Well, since I'm rather interested in games (not hard-core) I'd really go for one with the fundamental parts needed for gaming. which is of course a good graphics card along with some RAM and a good processor. Just out of curiosity, what do you people go for when you r buying a new computer? or does it really mater to you?

for gaming purpose, i think u'll need to get a better graphic card and ram.. at least 1GB RAM(better go for a 2GB i think),and a geforce 8600gt graphic card.. for the processor, maybe go for amd? if u hav higher budget for this new computer, den u can get a Intel Core 2 Duo for better processing speed~

Thanks for the reply. well my computer is already pimped up with 2GB of RAm and a dual core processor, but i need a good GFX card. 8800 GT ones look good in my opinion.

First of all, you should know what you need it for and what operating system you are going to use. For myself, I'd get a PC with windows XP. Windows XP might be outdated compared to Windows Vista but it isn't that power hungry when it comes to the amount of RAM. For Vista to run smoothly, I'd recommend 1.5GB to 2GB. For Windows XP, 1.5GB of memory is more than enough. If you can live without the eye candy features of Windows Vista, Windows XP still a good option. For the processing power, you can choose between AMD and INTEL. INTEL provides better CPUs than its competitor but for a price. If you're just a casual gamer, AMD's offerings will do just fine. As for the video card, I suggest the NVIDIA 8600GTS or the ATI HD2600XT. The latter has good HD video playback especially when you want to watch your Blu-rays or HD-DVDs in you PC. If you can shell out a few more bucks, i suggest you get the new NVIDIA 8800GT because the price/performance ratio is the best. Hope these info are helpful...

Thank you for the info mate. Well when it comes to hardware I always tend to screw up a bit. I'm not much of a hardware fan. anyway from the reviews ive seen on the internet I think XP is still a better option form Vista. All i do is get a new windows vista them for XP.
