My daughter told me that Santa Claus is not allowed to say HO HO HO anymore and has to say HA HA HA because HO HO HO might offend women and scare the children. Um, since when? Also, it has been said that Santa's image should be changed because he isn't a good example for people because he's fat. Well, of course he's fat! He binges on kids cookies and milk on Christmas Eve and he lives in the North Pole!!!! That's his job! I don't want to see a buff Santa. I want my cuddly, portly, happy, jolly Santa! I don't want to leave him health shakes and granola bars on the table...I want to leave him cookies and milk! I was pretty sure we couldn't sterilize the Christmas holiday any further, but I see that I am completely mistaken. I am so irritated with this. QUIT MESSING WITH TIME HONORED TRADITIONS!!!!!!!

That is verging on the ridiculous now, all I can imagine they mean is rappers say HO as an abbreviation of wh*re (hope you can guess what I typed)so that's how it might offend women. But he's Santa not Eminem I'm sure there would be confusion in the super market if Santa was saying Ho Ho Ho as women walked past.

I also think this is just getting ridiculous. I mean politically correct is not turning to politically stupid. Santa has been saying this term for hundreds of years and it has never offended anyone. I feel that whoever would be offended by this, is probably the genuine article of Ho Ho Ho. If you get my drift.

Since so many people disagree why would anyone consider changing santa? Next thing you know santa will be a thin guy saying ha ha ha. They probably will censor old shows when santa was fat and said ho ho ho. I doubt anyone would want to watch a censored show.

Spiderlizard, I didn't even think that it could go that far. Your right, though...if we begin doing that, all of our time honored Christmas movies and shows will be banned or dubbed over. I think it is completely ignorant! Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

I tell you, some people aren't happy unless they have something to complain about!!!! One of these days I'll be smart enough to make up some stupid reason why we shouldn't do something that's been acceptable for the last couple centuries...

Poor Santa, he just ain't what he use to be. I think Santa better be careful with his Ha, Ha, Ha's also. It may appear that he is laughing at someone. The last thing he would want to do is laugh at someone's child. That would be terrible, especially if someone got physical about it.
As far as him taking off a pound or two, I can understand where they are coming from. Santa is a lot of kids hero and who wouldn't want to grow up to be Santa. He gets to play with all those toys and have cookies and milk and everything.

Rozie, you have a point regarding the Ha Ha Ha's! I don't know if I would get physical about it, but some people would I suppose lol! As for him being fat, maybe a few pounds, but he just wouldn't be the same jolly guy! Thanks for responding.

Oh my goodness. I have not heard about this till now. But I agree. Leave Santa alone. Kids have such a difficult world to deal with now a days and are being forced to grow up far beyond their years. Kids need to see safety and security in their worlds and what is safer then Santa. He gives them a feeling of love, acceptance, and security. Let them have there dreams like we did. I wish I could make today's young parents understand what they are denying there children but trying to make little adults out of them.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Merry Christmas and I know Santa will be at your house this year.

Well, I hope Santa comes here! I know I am leaving my cookies and milk out! I think trying to steal the magic of Christmas from our children is like the grinch stealing christmas. I find this so irritating that I can't imagine that it has gone this far. Thanks for responding!

I can't imagine a skinny santa who can't say ho ho ho. I don't think that the kids will accept it and I certainly don't. thanks for your response!

Are you serious? That is ridiculus. I think they need to get all of these politically correct people and get them out of the USA. This is getting to be stupid. A skinny santa that says HA HA HA and not Ho Ho Ho? There's no way! He wouldn' be santa anymore if that happened. Santa is fat, get over it. And he says Ho Ho Ho. Get over that too! If some one gets offened because he says Ho Ho Ho then maybe they need to look deeper into their lives and make a change, because the only ones who are getting offended are the ones that fit the bill, if you know what I mean.

Yeah, tell me about it. I think it is so sad that these people have to focus on things that are not important instead of focusing on things that are. Oh, I don't know, maybe the hungry, the homeless, the sick, to name a few. Sad, so sad.

You go girl! I agree with you on that. If the shoe fits wear it as one of my other responders put it. I don't know what is going to go next, but I am not looking forward to hearing about it. The lucky charms leprechaun will start offending the irish and we won't be able to celebrate st. patty's day.

The idea of Santa not being able to say, "ho ho ho" is really silly. Santa is suppose to be a big man, happy and fat. Wonder if he will have to shave his beard and either spike his hair or shave his head. Maybe he should also wear a purple suit! Who decided the saying was disrespectful to women?
I've been around a long time and have never been offended by hearing ho ho ho. It's part of Santa and should remain the same.

I am not sure, but I can't see Santa wearing a Pimp Hat and a Purple Suit either hahahah! I have no idea who came up with this ludicrous thought that this is offensive. I think people need to get over it!

I read that and the first thing that came to my mind was "if the shoe fits". If a woman is offended by it then she must be a Ho..lol...and needs to stop being one right? To take something like this away from children is sacriligious. As for Santa being fat! My God what is this world coming too???

Correctamundo! I totally agree! Why should anyone find that offensive if it's not hitting home personally? I think that this is just another way to screw ball our traditions to suit those that don't agree. I say get over it and let it be! Pretty soon, we will be attacking Frosty The Snowman, Burl Ives, Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer and the Peanuts holiday specials.

What is the world coming to? It kind of makes you want to cry... It's funny but when you think about it, children can't enjoy Christmas anymore at all. At school, they can't even have plays or anything. It's really sad.

Yeah I miss my daughter having Christmas concerts and things like that. We don't do that here because it might offend some one. I figure if you don't like it, then don't have your child participate and don't show up. That's how we have always done it, but of course what do I know! LOL

Got to love your kids! LOL! They come up with some of the strangest ideas sometimes. Unfortunately my two boys do not believe in Santa anymore for reasons of being terrified by their father and what he told them...it really saddened me that i had to sit down with them at such a young age and tell them that he wasn't real. I hate my ex for destroying my children's innocence like that. really ticks me off. my daughter however will believe in him as long as my boys don't blabber it out that it's not true. LOL! now, we just tell the christmas story about Christ's birth and that has become our tradition, since Christmas is supposed to be celebrating His birth anyways. Kids are so funny today though, i tell ya. LOL
talk to you later girl!

That's very true! Thanks for bringing to attention the reason for the season. Something else that is slowly being omitted from Christmas. Kids are a dandy! They sure do know how to give you a kick in the pants, and darn your ex-husband for messing up Christmas for the kids!

It is upsetting when someone tells the kids about the real deal when they could have easily let the kids have that magic for a little while longer. They would have found out when it was right for them, I know how that can go.

I know it. I was so mad at him for doing that to them. i mean at 8 and 9 my parents were still talking about Santa and what Santa was gonna bring me that year. My boys now are like, here's my list of what I want...what are you gonna get me. So sad! Anyways, kids are definitely a dandy. I don't mind it as much anymore that they know that we get them that as long as they understand the true meaning of Christmas. I believe that is the most important thing to think about, not how many gifts your gonna get.

So the don't want "Jolly 'Ol St. Nick" anymore? My goodness!! What else will they sensor next? That is outrageous. People need to remember the meaning of Santa and the whole meaning of Christmas and all the holidays that they are trying to ruin. I really feel for the kids today because our governments and sensorship people have gone stock raving mad!!

I am not a Santa Fan but if you have Santa it is a little wierd that he cant say something he has been saying since before we were politically correct. They can swear on tv but Santa cant laugh. Yeah that makes lots of sense (dripping with sarcasm)

Our first amendment gives us freedom of speech and religion. People cannot seem to wrap their mind around that concept any longer. It is about people demanding others accept how they think and believe and not respecting the right and freedom of choice of others. It is crazy. Lets throw out God, Christ, The Ten Commandments, Fairy Tales and Fat men in Red suits with a jolly ho ho ho. Give me a break.
While I personally don't observe Christmas and all the trappings not since age 14. I totally respect other peoples rights to do so and enjoy the holidays as they choose. What is the matter with people they cannot let well enough alone.
Go home or to another planet if you don't like our nation and our way of life and doing things. Stop pushing your beliefs, ideas and agendas down the rest of the worlds throats so the few can feel smug and happy.
Geez it is just a fairy tale for kids let the myth alone to be what he always has been. Stupid people.

I completely agree with you on that. I just don't understand why people feel they need to infringe on other's rights, but God forbid they have it done to them. Well, all I know in regard to the first amendment, I think a lot of people failed US History. I think that is the problem lol. My mother came here from South Korea and when she did, she wouldn't allow us to speak Korean, only English. While I regret that move on her part, I would love to have learned the language...I can understand her thoughts on it. She learned to speak this language, she adapted to the holidays and traditions and some she didn't care for and others she grew to love, but the point is, she didn't make a big stink about it. She realized that she is in another country and that she had to adapt to this way of life. Of course she got very angry with me for breaking the news to my brother about Santa not being "real". LOL

It's political correctness gone CRAZY. I hate it, and it's got to stop, because it doesn't even surprise me a little that some crazies with far too much time on their hands would take time out of their mundane lives to lobby against something as innocuous as the jolly fat man being just that and the words children around the world have known for decades.
It's times like these I can't help but to hate some people.

i agree with you (i'm using caps because i'm mad...lol). people need to leave our honored traditions alone. who in the heck has the say so over changing things that so many people have done for sooo many years. no one in the past had a problem with it unless we wouldn't even know the traditions that we have grown up on. let us put a christmas tree up, let us say in god we trust, let our santa eat cookies and milk and let us say ho ho ho...not ha ha ha merry christmas. i'm a woman and the ho ho ho doesn't offend me....if it offends some women then maybe "the truth hurts" get over it. how ignorant is this world going to get?

In a world where we are tech savvy, we are obviously losing common sense by the butt load. Who the heck wants to say ha ha ha merry xmas? That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard! It is quite laughable. I think someone should do a comedy skit incorporating all of the changes that people wnat forced upon us "traditionalists" and I bet we would have a good laugh at how ridiculous our new holiday would look.
