ive been smoking for about 6 years now and im tired of it. I developed somewhat of a cough from it and i cant run up the stairs at work without being tired when i get to the top. Have you ever tried to kick the habit? Pls do tell.

The method of quitting that is succesful really depends on the person. I tried several times in the past and right now simply don't feel like quitting! I just smoke less than usual. The coughingh and irritable throat does getting irritating though sometimes and it's certainly not good for your lungs!

The best way to quit smoking is to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, He will help you if you mean it from your heart.
Consider Christ, the reason for this season, and I guarantee you, whatever addictions you may have, He will give you power over those smoking, and other vices!!! Merry Christmas.

Try to taper down slowly (ie smoke less per day until you finally achieve complete remission)to avoid withdrawal symptoms such as nausea and stress. If you have tried that but still can't seem to stop smoking, you can try some alternative withdrawing therapies available such as nicotine replacement patches, nicotine chewing gums and a medication called bupropion. These alternative therapies can be obtained at the pharmacy. Good luck in your quest to stop smoking, and I certainly hope you do since smoking is indeed bad for health (eg. can lead to cancers and many cardiovascular and respiratory diseases)! =)
