Hey everyone! I know that the writers strike has gotten a lot of publicity in the past week. TV shows will soon run out of episodes to air and many have already begun reruns. Some new shows have been cut already because there is no one to write and they are not getting the fair chance that they deserve. I really like some of the new shows like Dirty Sexy Money and Big Shots. I want to see them continue to succeed like many of the other shows on now. Some shows will end pretty like Heroes. At the moment in a couple of episodes they will have their season finale which is not what many people want. What are your thoughts?

Ashmin I love your avatar it reminds me of Currier & Ives.
In response to your question: I've been thinking a lot about the writers' plight. As a writer/creative person I believe that whatever effort they put in should be compensated appropriately. And it is no secret that producers and studios and parent companies get a disproportionate cut of the sweat and tears of the creative people without whom there would be no producers, studios or parent companies. So whatever the writer's guild needs to do to achieve a good balance that they are happy with is fine by me.
As a self-proclaimed entertainment industry connoisseur, I shudder at the thought of just one week without my various beloved serials and episodes. Bones, Supernatural and Numb3rs to name a few. Without a doubt none of them will have enough material to last the season.
Hopefully the strike will not involve overseas counterparts like BBCAmerica. So by January at least I can be enjoying new episodes of Torchwood and Hotel Babylon and can continue to enjoy Secret Diary of a Call Girl.
But for the most part until the strike is over I support the writers in their efforts and will try to make due with reruns and what is already on my dvr hard drive. That's yet another plug for Tivo.
Great topic.
