Hi, When you say you don't have a lot of money to spare, exactly how much money do you mean? I would say that would be step 1 in figuring out what gifts to get. Figure out just how much you can really afford to spend and that will be a huge factor in helping you decide what to get. Second, with the ecconomy that we have today, it is very likely that if you are feeling the ecconomic crunch this year, so are you brothers and sisters in law. You may want to suggest something like pulling names and exchanging gifts with just the person whose name you pick. That may be a huge relief for them. Third, don't allow yourself to be preasured by all the comercials. Just because comppanies say this is the time of year to shop dosen't mean you have to. A few years ago my family and I decided to stop all the Christmas shopping that we would do each year. Partly because of the cost and partly because of the stress it causes each year. We get some things for one another if and only if we can afford to, the gift really is a NEED for that person, and if it is not stressful to get it. We put more emphasis on spending time together, time that we don't get to spend during any other time of the year. I can't even begin to tell you how relaxing our holiday season is. I just lost my father this year in February, and I can't even imagine adding the stress of holiday shopping to the way I am feelig right now about not having him here for Christmas for the first time ever. If we have the extra money and energy we pick up a couple of things. If we don't, then we don't bother. My son does just fine with it because I pick up things throughout the year that I know he will need and that I can afford for him and hide them. I also teach him the importance of having a budjet and making wise choices with his money. Think about it. Many people spend $100's even $1000's every year on things they really can't afford and then spend several years paying for it in more ways than one. Finally, ask yourself why you even feel you must give gifts for Christmas at all. If you can't come up with anything other than "we've always done it" or It's just what we do." or "It just makes me feel good." then it may be time to consider not giving gifts this year and focusing on other things that are really helpful amd memorable for your loved ones.

I have similar problem , but you can go like to dollar store and buy some stuff and make the gift baskets and also be creatvie as much you want. You can out there anything you want, i think it is really easy and not that expensive. Also you can bake some cookies and put them to some nice box and make a nice presents. If you like to do crafts, i am sure there are many sites for making a little project and it could be given as a present.
