Family Guy is a great show. I haven't missed a episode, but the newer episodes are doing some very weird things and yeah I still laugh, but some of the stuff might be going over the line.
What do you think?

I realy like family guy. They never fail to make me laugh. They make fun of everybody who is famous and every race and religion. So if one race or religion says its racist or whatever that makes no since because they do it to eveybody. They could make fun of me and i would laugh at myself!

I think the fact that they push the envelope is part of what makes the show appealing. It makes the show even more funny when they cross the line.

Of course Family Guy goes too far, but that's what makes it great. Sure there are things they say that I don't like or agree with, but at least they say it without really worrying about what the censors think. It's definately not a show I want my kids to watch, but I have to respect the makers for not conforming just for ratings.

I love the show. We make it a daily thing to watch Family Guy. Peter is my favorite person on there. They do put some weird things on the newer ones. But they still keep me laughing. I do not think that they are going too far with it. I believe that if a lot of people complain on it then they will go back to the not so weird things. You know what I am saying? I do not know if I said that the way that I meant it.

i think they are doing some of their best episodes these days, the episode so cleverly titled stewie kills lois is one of the most entertaining episodes ive seen in a long time, sometimes they do go over the line but thats just part of the show.

South Park is soo much worse than Family guy. South Park has Steve Erwin in hell and the devil and Saddam Hussein making love ... Now that's going over the line.

I know that Seth Macfarlane has not been able to go over the latest shows with the usual fine toothpick he normal uses because of the writing strike.
I heard him in an interview on the Adam Carolla Show saying how upset he is about that and how long term viewers might notice a few odds and ends on them.
I personally love them all though.

Never. Family Guy is revealing the true reality of North-American culture. I saw a post that said "I don't like seeing the baby in adult situations" This is just another example of our culture kids loose their virginity at 10 or earlier sometimes. I don't think that's normal! Anyways great show always on the ball, they come out with segments on things mere weeks after they happen. I love it.

While I agree that this show is definitely not for children there is a simple solution to the problem of children getting bad influences from it, don't let them watch it. It's usually not on until late at night, or on channels that children shouldn't be watching anyway.

Very true. Southpark's entire purpose is to push sociological boundaries, I mean, they had a joke about a chicken-rapist once and even though in real life that would be highly disturbing, in the cartoon it's absolutely halarious. At the same time though southpark knows just how far they can take it. They never actually showed the guy raping chickens.Family guy usually makes fun of celebs better though.

I agree, family guy is very funny and I've always liked it but also, recently it has been getting worse.
I can laugh at myself- all the stereotypical blondes or taking the mickey of stereotypes that apply to me ... However, sometimes the show goes too far in promoting racism and violence in teens.
My brothers picked up many racist thoughts/ideas from that show... They disgust me! And, in episodes such as the one where the dog gets beaten up by Stewie? That is disgusting! Many kids watch this show, and I'm not one to be faint-hearted, but a baby beating up a dog? hitting him with a stick? Setting him on fire? What sort of behaviour does that promote?
Since I saw that episode online... I've liked family guy a whole lot less.

ah family guy, I personally prefer shows that pushes boundaries. And I think that people will always watch the show no matter how over the line they go. And my generation grew up on the simpsons, bevis&butthead, southpark and the like so family guy does the trick these days.

Well Family Guy probably does take it too far, but to be honest I think that's why I love it so much! They are constantly taking stabs at celebrities and just being so funny, I can't help but laugh! I think that if they toned it down, the show wouldn't be as big of a hit as it is today....

I haven't really thought about it yet but I'll have to check though. I guess it all depends on how it is delivered to be for me anyhow. I'll probably have to watch and see for myself. Most of the time, I hardly ever get a chance to watch much of the newer Family Guy's. By that time, I'll just like well let's see what happens this week.

Regarding your question, i really don't feel that family guy is stepping over the line with their jokes. I may feel this way because i watch southpark quite frequently and nothing can compare to jokes on southpark to the jokes on family guy.

I have watched the show, and some parts are funny. I like that they do and say what no one else dares. Kind of like the Simpsons used to be. They were pretty cutting edge when they first came out. Now, they seem pretty tame in comparison.
The things I don't like about family guy is when they have the baby in adult situations. Things like drinking, smoking, and intimate adult scenes. That is not appropriate, and a little disturbing to me. It's fine when he makes jokes about needing his diaper changed, that sort of thing, though.
