I feel so liberated after finishing a job that im not really sure that i could finish early. Guys, i just wanna ask everyone, do you finish something you start? Especially when that something seems large enough for other people and so draining in terms of time and energy.
well, honestly i always feel bored and impatient when doing some long editing job. However, since im paid to do it, i really take time to finish it. I just finished a full length documentary just now. And i feel so relieved.
So how about you what's your attitude towards a job?

hi! everytime i feel like giving up on something.. i always remember the poem "DON'T" QUIT" after that, i feel recharged. it's been my practice (to finish what i started) and i'm glad that until this very moment i have accomplished everything that I've started. :-)

"When a task is once begun,
never leave it 'til it's done.
Be the labor great or small,
do it well or none at all." --Anon.
It's quite OC-ish to think in such terms but that is how I view any task or job that is given me. I'm very much into details and I just wouldn't easily give up on something or leave it unfinished -- particularly if i have a deadline to meet. It gives me joy knowing that when I've finished a job - any job - I've finished it well because I've poured my heart out into it and gave it my best shot.
Also, some verses in the Bible that help me gain the right perspective when i work are the following:
Ecclesiastes 9:10
"Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom."
Colossians 3:23
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men"
1 Corinthians 10:31
"So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."
Thank you for posting this discussion question. Have a great day, tatzkie! Happy myLotting! :)

I have a hard time finishing what I have started. I have such good ideas. I plan and go about it right. I just lose interest in the project. I have Adult ADD and it is hard for me to finish anything. But..on the other hand, I do try. Sometimes it might be months down the road, I will give it the 'old college try' to finish something that I have started.
Your job sounds interesting. I'll bet you are also proud, besides relieved.

i wasnt proud at first. i was kinda afraid of the judgment. Maybe because for me, what i did wasnt enough yet. I always strive for something far better. My girlfriend told me that Im OC. I just cant help but agree. Everytime i look at the video, there is something that i see wrong that needed to be changed. hahahah. it is just so ME! but anyway, il visit the editting job sometime next week for another revision to satisfy myself. Now im proud a bit. coz they like the client liked it. They asked me if i can put in chinese and spanish subtitles. That i still have to deal later. thanks for the comment. and good luck with all your endeavors.

Video editing jobs? For a moment I thought you were referring to English editing jobs - I have been trying to find such assignments in vain. :(
And back to your question, naturally we have no choice but to finish a job we have undertaken to accomplish. There is simply no second way.
And yes, especially if the project is a big-scale one, it gives immense gratification and it is hard not to feel happy in the end when all is done. =)

As per the present stresses towards a mans' duties and urgency and hurry moods to finish a job is a real question for everybody in this world. If one job handed to us we must finish that one as for as posibleby quicker means. But the criterios such as family interruptions and friends links cannot allo us to freely finish the jobs as we planned in time. Mainly the job you've been assigned for editing a documentary really horrible. You must be in a island or to be separated from the world to do your job. If jobs assigned we must be alone from the world so that we can fulfill the expects of the assigner and it is good for us to do the job in time.

I also agree with you. indeed it is horrible, when i was still starting to collect all videos. hahaha. i remember that feeling looking at a tremendous effort and time ahead of me. with all distractions from all sides. my God I really felt that i cant finish this at all. but i dont know... i just did. a little bit of focus and self sacrifice i guess.

the warmth of finishing a big job is very great.i congarts you for finishing a big documentary.whenever i am being given any task to accomplish,i try to complete it as soon as i can.and after completion i really feel very great.i dont feel good if i leave any job in between. Also it pinches my mind every now and then.there are some work which are really very boring for one to do ,howsoever i think if one has taken the responsibilty ofr completing it then by any means he should complete it.
