My Mom just sent me an awesome video. As I understand it, it was made by a U.S. soldier. It is so heart touching and moved me to tears. The words are just so moving. Please take a moment, watch the video, read the words, say a prayer for our troops (if you pray) and then tell me how it made you feel.
I'm so thankful to these wonderful men and women and I just wish there was something I could do to let them know how much they and their sacrafice means to me.
I'm including the words here in case you can't find them on the site. Here is the link to the song (scroll about half way down) and there's a link right below it to his website.

ON MY WATCH TONIGHT BY MIKE CORRADO
I come from an Island
In the Carolina sand
Where I was broke down,
Built up and reborn a fighting man
My blood runs red,
white and blue
I’ll brave the cold,
the rain, the pain
and the bullets
so you don’t have to
Don’t worry about me;
I’ll be all right
Just care for your children and sleep tight
I’ll keep you safe
on my watch tonight
It’s a long, long way from that island
And a long way from home
With the thought of you standing behind me
I could never be alone
There’s a promise
I need you to make
While I’m gone you take care of the love
And I’ll deal with the hate
Don’t worry about me;
I’ll be all right
Just care for your children and sleep tight
I’ll keep you safe
on my watch tonight
Don’t worry about me;
I’ll be all right
Just care for your children and sleep tight
I’ll keep you safe
on my watch tonight

I don't have time to watch this video. Perhaps I will tomorrow. I really don't believe in violence and most of the wars we fight are uncessary or motivated by politics and greed. That being said, I respect any human being who puts their life on the line for rights and freedoms. The courage it takes is amasing. Watch lions and lambs... Its amasing.

I'm not american, I'd Canadian. We have a lot of troops over there too. We were originally supposed to just be peacekeepers but got caught up in all the stuff going over there. I just heard last week that a couple of our troops got killed.

I have an address to send Christmas cards to wounded soldiers recovering at Walter Reed. I'll be glad to pm it to you or post it if there seems to be enough interest.
I may not like the war but we hae some pretty awesome soldiers! I am proud of them and the work they do. I pray that they can all come home soon. Thanks for sharing this video, it was really touching. I'll pass it around so more people can see it.

That was truly beautiful, we dont take the time to let the people who are risking their lives for our freedom how wonderful we think they are. If for one second of every single day every American took the time to thank God for the courageous men and women who make our lives better, and send one prayer, maybe the Lord will here us and send our brothers and sisters home soon.
Thank All of You. The Men and Women of the Armed Forces for making America safe for my children....

thanks for posting this, I have seen it before and everytime I hear it I am moved to tears.. Not only are prayers needed for the troops over there but for the familes of those troops, having my husband over in Iraq was the hardest thing I think I have ever had to go throu.

I understand. It is hard for the soldier to be in the middle of it but sometimes the loved ones of those soldiers suffer just as much. My heart goes out to you and my prayers for your husbands, and all the soldiers, safe return.

I love these kinds of things..but it brings tears to my eyes. The best thing I can get for Christmas this year is to have my son home. He has been gone the past 2 Christmases and is talking now about a possible overseas assignment this spring.
I really do miss him. Here is a picture of him.

What an awesome video/music that Mike created. I loved it! When I read that Mike Corrado wrote it, I immediately had to see his pic to see if it was the same guy I grew up with. It's not but they do have the same first/last name. Very touching..

Twoey68, I already have my deepest passion flying high, not only for our troops today, but all of the ones in the past!
Their is no equal to the sacrifice these guys are giving in something they beleve in, which is our freedom, not only for them and their own families, but for you and I, and others, whom they do not even know!
I give my heart out to these men, and deeply regret, that I can not go again, and stand beside these men!

It really did my heart good to hear that song, twoey, and it also made me proud of our soldiers who are giving so much. I signed the Guest Book on Mike's site and also sent another card. Thanks for the link.

I do wish you could hear the song. You might look on his site and see if there is a just the song without the video. I am going to see if my brother can add it to my musicbox on my profile page for me.

It´s an utopic site. It´s trying to make an incentive of the nationalism as a healthy thing, so don´t pay and take it away
