Yesterday i have made around 17 responses longer about 4 lines and more and I earn about 24 cents. what is not even 2 cents per a response. So I was thinking if I make any typos I don't get some much cents like if it would be correct? Does someone know about this something? Does it depend or not?

Hi Laurika. I could not provide any good reason as answer, because the word "QUALITY" totally assess by mylot staff. And I am learning on this issue on day-to-day basis, until now could not be able to come out with firm and standard answer for earnings in mylot. Unless for uploaded photo and referral. HAPPY DAPPY.

I'd like to think that myLot pays you more for quality more than anything else. Quality is subjective, but I should think it relates to things like how much you can share on a topic, the depth of the content, how much research goes into what's shared, how you are able to put forth your argument of a contentious topic, whether what you share is relevant or logical, whether you add an image, etc. Obviously, if you only write one or two lines, there is not much you have shared to earn well. I don't think typos will downplay your earnings, but if you write badly and your post is difficult to comprehend, you cannot expect to earn well. I'd consider more valuable posts to be at least 4 or 5 lines - one can earn 2 or more cents for good posts with sufficient content.

Agree with you that length certainly plays a part in assessment of quality. With regard to this, the art of writing matters. If one can write well and able to elaborate a point and fill up more lines in the post, I'd say that presents an advantage in landing more earnings, but the point(s) made should be relevant and perhaps interesting.

I do not believe that they take off for your typos. That would be a little too petty. But, I know that they want us to really add something to the decussions that we respond to. I don't worry anymore about the pay. If I did, I would have quit a long time ago.

Some days back on 11.11.2007 i made some 60 posts/responses all i think is more elaborative and actually i got 90 cents on the day. But i feel that dont reduce any earnings for typo errors. Thanks a lot for getting another useful topic .

It might make a difference and it might not. Even if it makes some difference, it would have to be very little. I'm used to typing at least 4 lines. It just depends on what I have to type up exactly. I couldn't say if it really does as much as anyone thinks. I guess it depends on the discussions and such but that's just one guess. There's probably many factors and to this day I've not figured it out and decided to not worry about it as well. At least that's what I figured out anyway.

I am new to mylot and I have posted and also responded to a lot of subjects on here already. I have a 48 or 50 next to my username. What does that mean? I only got .13 so far. I really don't know how it works. What have you done in the past that really seemed to have help you make money? I don't think spelling and grammar makes a difference in the amount you make though.

I dont there is much about mistakes here, its all bout the content and quality of the post.i have made many mistakes while typing which i was unable to correct, but i dont think that really affects a great deal.one thing is really sad that mylot has really reduced the payment,i hope they will increase it soon.regarding the mistakes, you post quality content and there is nothing much to worry about.

The system wouldn't be 'smart' enough to not give you, or even deduct your particiapation earnings simply due to spelling mistakes. Participation payment is worked out on the length of the response, that is, the number of words or characters; I'm not exactly entirely sure which one. Then the factor of the rating you receive will also influence it, obviously.

Actually, I am not sure anyone has really ever figured this site out even back in the day when this site used to pay a lot better than it does now. I think a lot of it is due to maybe the New discussions we make, the posts you make, and if one of your responses are ever chosen as Best Response. But in reality, I think we will really never know. But I still am enjoying this site, and meeting a lot of wonderful people so that is why I am still here. Personally, I still think myLot Rocks.

That's actually something that I've kind of wondered too. I'm not sure exactly how they decide what amounts to pay people. I am guessing they just make sure that the post makes sense and is relevant to the discussion. I'm not sure if they count off for typos, but it doesn't hurt to try to stay away from them anyway just in case! :)

Till now I was in the assumption that we are paid 1 cent per post not more than that. And if the discussion is not that good we won't get paid. Mylot earnings are still a mystery for me. :)

I dont think they count on your mistakes. I think it depends on how many you earned or ratings whatsoever..but me, i dont really care how they rate you here.. Coz they wont tell how.

This is kind of Off Topic, but i do find this system to be fascinating. I have been browsing around, and at the moment i have no idea what I'm doing regarding the "earnings" and etc. lol I look forward to many and many hours (which i'm sure it will, considering how computer literate i am) of trying to figure out this system.

I don't think mistakes and typos in discussions have anything to do with your earnings. It wouldn't make sense because no one has time to go through everyone's discussions and reponses to see if they've made a mistake. I think it just has to do with the quality of the post.

I got Firefox and it has an automatic spelling corrector or rather it puts a red line under the incorrect word and gives you choices. I find it hard sometimes to put more than four lines, and if I make a record of what I write, then it takes time out of my posting on myLot. I do think that myLot does check to see if you make an spelling errors, but since there are so many people here who's original language is not English, I expect is whether the post makes sense that maybe determines the rates.

Not sure whether typos will make a difference towards your earnings, but I think it would be good anyway to look out for typos and correct it so as to make the reader's job a much easier task. But for you to earn more than 1 cent per post is already an achievement, because I've never earned more than 1 cent per post.

Is what your saying that if you don't make any typo errors or spelling errors you make more money? I never read this anywhere on mylot before. I also have not seen anyone else say this before. Maybe you made more money because your responses were longer, as in four or more lines. I think this is what paid you more. Of course, this is only my opinion and I could be totally wrong. All my responses and discussions are at least four or five lines long. I did a lot more responding than you yesterday. I posted forty three responses and ten discussions and I only made sixty three cents. So that's a lot less than two cents a posting. I really don't understand how they, mylot, determine how much to pay a person. I have read so many discussions and responses about this subject and I can't come up with the right answer. Everyone has something different to say on this subject. So who really knows! Only mylot knows for sure.
