Whether it is a world wide famous celebrity or a local one (such as a newscaster), have you ever seen such a person, in person? If if you did, did you scream in excitement, say hello to them like you would your friends or family, or would you keep to yourself, go about your business and not say anything to them at all?
My mom told me of a time she had seen a famous celebrity years ago (before I was born) while at Disney Land. It was Lloyd Bridges and apparently she had asked him for his autograph, but he was on vacation with his two sons and told her no. Well she was persistent and followed him around until he gave in to her and gave her his autograph. :P LOL My mom can be a spunky little lady at times! LOL
Today I saw a local news person at a small drive in restaurant. Unlike my mother though I kept to myself and didn't hound her or even say hello. This is actually the second time I've seen this woman. The first time was at a fish store downtown, though it was a few years ago. I didn't say anything to her then either. :P It's not like I'm trying to be rude, I'm just not the type to get excited over celebrities. They don't know me and I don't know them so what's the point of even saying hi to them? :P
So, have you ever seen a famous person, in person? What did you do?

I have seen John Schneider, aka Bo Duke, from the original TV series, The Dukes of Hazzard, in person twice. John Schneider is my favorite actor. The second time I seen him in person I got his autograph. It was at Dukesfest and he was there to sign autographs. I did not talk to him either time. I wanted to say "hello" or something each time, but I froze and said nothing instead.

Lucky you! John Schneider is my favorite actor as well. And he is damn good looking to boot!
Smallville just isn't the same since he left...

I have met Jeff Healey, The Reverand Horton Heat, several local news casters, Maria and Gordon from Sesame Street, Ross Perot, Simon Le Bon of Duran Duran and a couple of D list actors, and lots of local musicians and a few fading rocks stars when they played local clubs. I have met several Dallas Cowboys, a few Dallas Mavericks, some Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders and a couple of Dallas Stars. I have usually been totally oblivious to them until someone else points them out.
I was lucky enough to have once been invited to a show and given tickets. That was cool. And I did get tickets to a football game from a cheerleader once. I did manage once to actually get asked out to dinner by an aging rock star. I met him at a local club he was playing at and I had no idea who he was. I treated him like he was just someone who happened to be there during the day (I was there to see a friend who worked there). I went to dinner with him and only after dinner when he offerred me tickets to the show did I realize who he was. Talk about a laugh, he thought it was the funniest thing.

Where did you meet Simon Le Bon? I would probably faint if I were to meet him?
I used to have such a crush on him back in the 80's. I still love Duran Duran to this day and go to their concerts, etc. Was he nice, or was he a jerk?
Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

I met Simon at Disney World. He was really nice about me spilling a drink on him. I was talking to my friend and not watching where I was going. So I bumped into this guy and managed to spill my water all over him. I was apologizing and trying to offer him some napkins when I looked up and saw his face. Being all of 16 years old, I looked at him and proceeded to ask "OMG! Do you know who you are?" You can only imagine how embarrassed I was when I realized what I had said. I then followed it up with an even cooler "Of course you know who you are." He was really nice though.

Yes, I had seen the present president of our country some years ago. She was the guest of honor and speaker in a convention that I attended together with my friends and officemates. We had a photo taken with her. I also have seen some actors and actresses, some of our former and present senators, some politicians, newscasters, and the boxing champion manny pacquiao whom I took some souvenir pictures.

Yes, I have a number of times. Just local actors and actresses in the Philippines about 4 years ago. I didn't bother saying hi to them of course. If I were in their shoes, I would perhaps feel like I can't even go about doing normal shopping if I'm always seen. But then I wasn't really that crazy about those I've seen in person anyways. So maybe if it was someone else I'm crazy about, then maybe I'd look like an idiot trying to ask for an autograph.

Yes I did see a lot of celebrities here already. I haven't seen a Hollywood star before but I hope of seeing one someday. It is quite common actually to see local celebrities here but of course foreign and international ones are hard to see here because they are always guarded.

Couple of years back I was privileged to meet and shake hands with... Roger Moore. He was visiting Zambia in his capacity as Unicef ambassador. It was awesome to talk to james Bond in person!

He was very human, if I am allowed to say that for lack of a better term. Most of the fellows in my group who had to meet him were falling over and started asking him about the Bond movies, but he behaved like he never did any Bond movies; he was just talking about young people and HIV and AIDS and stuff like that. It was awesome to bask in his humility.

I could have seen a movie star that was here in Juneau,Ak. I was told my family and friends and heard all of this town that Harrison Ford was (Han Solo from Star Wars and Indiana Jones) here. that was a few months ago. My mom says he comes here every summer. he was here for only a day. I didn't get to see him because everyone in town had a different story at where he was, my mom told me where he was. so I was bummed I didn't get to see him. I think he's a good actor, not my favorite but I like him. but that was the only time I have come kinda close to meeting a celebrity.

I also think Harrison ford is a good actor. That's too bad that you didn't get to meet him. I don't blame you for being bummed out about it.
You never said who your favorite celebrity is. Inquiring minds want to know! LOL

Just this weekend I saw a local star performing in one of the malls in our place. I am a little of excited to see her face to face. It was fun and enjoyable.

My daughters and I meet the Bee Gees when we were on vacation in Miami Beach back in 2000. The were so nice. They talked to us, signed autographs, Had their pictures taken with us. I even got a hug from Maurice Gibb!
I was alright while we were with them. It was afterwards that it set in that we had meet the Bee Gees. We went out to eat and I was in a fog. I couldn't order right. I kept giggling. My daughters were making fun of me.
My father years ago while I was growing up owned a sub shop in Whitman Massachusetts. Lenny Baker from the music group Sha-Na-Na used to come in to his shop. My father would wait on him like any other customer.

Hello sacmom! I do met many famous celebrities. I even went to their studios because we have our projects there. I also saw some at the airport. Honestly, I did not scream when I saw them, I even pretended not to look at them when in fact I know they are celebrity.

I work in New York City so there are celebrities around all the time (although I'm often pretty bad at recognizing them). A couple of months ago I saw a black woman get out of an SUV next to Radio City Music Hall and a bunch of photographers appeared out of nowhere and starting snapping her picture. I asked one of them who she was and he said it was the singer Rihanna.
I used to work in the Time-Life Building and would see Anderson Cooper in the lobby or elevators every so often (CNN used to have a studio in the lobby of the building).

I have seen some. Local (Filipino) celebrities with my teenage years. There were times I just smiled and we shook our hands and there were times I scream..lol. It may be because I was carried away with other people around. It was fun though. I was hoping to see hollywood celebrities, with that I would take a chance to have pictures with them.

once i met ray manzerek from the Doors. I loved the doors when I was in high school and still think he is an incredible pianist. I told him how great I thought his music was and he kissed me... I was so shocked that I pulled back and looked at him with a shocked expression. He looked offended and said well I need to go, and left. I didn't even get an autograph... or maybe I did, I don't remember, the whole experience was very strange :(
I also met George Clinton from parliament funkadelic... that was a blast... what a crazy party.
