I belive that unicorns hold a great value for many reasons. I used to have dozens of books about them. I have a unicorn tatoo on my leg, which is where my name came from.

Thanks for your thoughts. If I ever get a tattoo (doubtful because I'm a bit of a coward with pain), it will be a tattoo of a unicorn - just a tasteful little unicorn somewhere visible but not too visible. I have two books of beautiful photography filled with photos of unicorns, there's text there too, talking about the unicorns. It's a lovely fantasy.

I bet those books are beautiful. I so miss my unicorn collection. My first husband did not like my things (I think he was jealous of them in some way) and threw a bunch of it away. I never did start collecting again after that. I figured I've always got my one unicorn with me and no one can get rid of that.

To me collecting unicorns is more a spiritual rather than a materialistic thing. I love each one, and I value both the differences and the similarities in my collection. One of the unicorns I have that I value hugely is a painting done by my favourite aunt. I bought my first unicorn when I was staying with her, (the beginning of my sometime obsession in collecting them) and I was thrilled with her gift of an original artwork!
