I used to love picnics, but haven't been on one in years. When my son and his family still lived near us, we would go to a local park and take lots of food and spend hours there. My fav foods were fried chicken, potato salad, pickles, olives, tomatoes, potato chips...and now I want another picnic. Thanks for bringing back some good memories.
I also remember when I was younger, my parents would take us to parks or to the beach for picnics. It was cheaper than going out to eat when you had 4 children, and both mom and dad were great cooks. Sometimes our neighbors even went with us. Good memories.

Oh, we either sat at tables or spread blankets on the sand if no tables were available. And I remember we used to love to go to the beach and cook breakfast some weekends.

We've used picnic benches and blankets for the grass. I prefer sitting on the grass on the blanket. It gives a better feel for the effect....We make our own food and buy food to bring. We generally bring homemade sandwiches, and buy potato salads, chips, snacks, drinks. It's fun, we haven't done it for awhile.........
