Taking clomid when overweight

I just wondered if anyone overweight has ever used clomid to fall pregnant successfully. I have been advised to lose weight, but my doctor has started me on the clomid anyway as having a baby is a priority for us. I have managed to lose about 3kg, but now am just managing to maintain my weight due to the fact that I have PCOS (Polycystic ovarian syndrome) and struggle to lose weight.
