How does Mylot rate you?

I lost a message I posted a few minutes after posting it because of a lousy internet connection. Luckily, I had copied it into notepad. So I thought I simply had to copy and paste it and that there was no need to type the whole thing again. But Mylot refused to paste my message. I received a pop-up saying that only users with a 'rating more than 500' can do that (copy and paste). Mylot users, do you know what this means? What is rating? How are you rated? And how do you achieve a rating of more than 500?

It means the number by your name. Right now your's says 97. That's how many posts you've made. Once you get to 500 you can copy and paste. And by the way...once you get to 100 you will get a star with a number in it. That is your reputation here. It's based on the +'s and -'s people have given you.

Yes, you cannot copy and paste from another source until and unless you reach the 500 in your ratings, i.e., you have posted or replied or started at least 500 discussions here. This was started by mylot to prevent spams and misuse by new members where actually misusing at that time by copying from websites and posting it here.

Thanks for your response, noriko!! Yeah, I guess some effort is required to reach the 500 mark. I never thought I would reach hundred. :) I guess 500 is not too far away. Happy earning!

I believe it's the number of posts you've made whether you started the conversation or commented on one, as long as the thread isn't deleted by the administration. I think the way it works is, once the little number beside your name reaches 500, you can copy and paste.

Thanks for your response, FireHorse! Looks like you are right. Milott, who has posted more than 500 messages says that it is possible to copy and paste only after you post 500 messages. A long way for me to go!!

Ah I am still to get that privilege! I am not here to spam but somehow mylot doesn't know it! I would be much better off, and able to contribute to the discussions in a much better way if I could copy paste material, but I am not allowed to do it.
500 posts is a long time away. It may take me an year or two to reach there, considering the fact that I am on and off mylot very regularly - I am regularly irregular!

Wow it seems to have been a long time since you posted this i mean from 97 and now you have a rating of 1320 wow I am barely at 21 but yeah I asked about that and found out that the rating was next to your name, i have been wanting to copy and paste and use the mylot code but I cant yet still got a long ways to go!!
