Hi, I really want a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel but I've heard that they have quiet a few hereditary problems Ie. Hip Dyspasia and seeing as I am a little short on money and they already cost around $750 for a papered female blenheim pup I'm not sure if I could afford the vet bills, Could someone give me an idea of how much it would cost to treat the hereditary issues?

I can't really give specific answers to your question but I do know this much. You don't ever want to buy a CKCS puppy from parents (and grandparents) that have not had and passed all health tests required for this breed (heart, hip, eye, patella and preferably also MRI-screened for syringomyelia). Demand to see the results of these tests from the parents. I paid 1k euros (about $1466) for my CKCS and anything much less is a big warning flag. Those tests are not cheap which means the pup won't be cheap either, but it will be much more expensive to treat any of the hereditary diseases on a pup that comes from suspicious circumstances than to shell out a few extra hundred on a well-bred CKCS. The best advice I can give in case the dog does develop any hereditary diseases is to have a good dog insurance from the very day you bring her home. That should cover at least some of the vet costs. Without the insurance it can cost thousands depending on the problem. But of course you need to have money available anyway, so you can bring her to the vet and get her treated for whatever might happen.
