***I Think I Need To Put On Some Mittens***

Do your hands get really cold when you're using the computer and typing your little hearts out? Mine do and it's so aggravating to me, it makes me want to put on mittens. Then again, if I put on mittens I wouldn't be able to type and you guys would miss out on all the fun responses from me, LOL! No, gloves won't do as they keep my fingers cold too...see, I read your minds already. Do you think I could have Carpel Tunnel as I have weak wrists along with the cold? After a while of doing alot of work they get really wimpy, haha. My daughter has it and did have surgery on both wrists, but it didn't work completely. So, tell me, does anyone have Carpel Tunnel right now? Or, did you have Carpel Tunnel, and was it corrected with surgery?

dear kashmeresmycat, love your cat in pic!!what i would do, and which works for me is i have a barstool next to my computer desk, there my 3 female cats take turns sitting next to me while i'm at the computer. their fur is so soft that it warms my hands...so no mittens...lol,lol...i had carpel tunnel syndrome very acute, when i lived in florida in a brand new house i bought there, it was sickening that disease, i began to think or does anyone out there know that there was something in the brand new house building that was bothering me to cause this. when i moved from that state to new york it went into remission and i never got it again, knock on wood. so i am so glad that i did not submit myself to sugery for it as it took care of itself, and went into remission....stanzi

Thank you for the compliment on my Kash...your's is adorable too. That's pretty strange that you moved and your hands got better. I would imagine it was something else other than Carpal tunnel. I'm glad it's better though for you.

no it was diagnozed as that, it can go into remission, just as it can be a sudden onset.

Hi my friend I had carpel tunnel and I had the surgery on one wrist that was 6 years ago and it worked. Ive havent had a problem. But my fingers do get cold but thats on both hands so no I dont think thats from carpel tunnel. If your having pain in your wrist real bad and dropping everything then you might have it. There is a test they give you to see if you have it or not.

Hi Terry and Thanks for being the first to respond!! I think I might have just a mild case of it, Thank Goodness for that (no hospitalization), but was just curious if it caused my fingers to get so cold...brrrr. I can't say the pain I get is bad, and it only does it when I'm using my wrists for hours, then it feels really weak and I might get a shooting pain, which almost makes me drop whatever I'm holding. It's been like this for a long time. Oh, the stuff we have to put up with in our lifetimes, haha.

I don't have Carpal Tunnel, just really poor circulation, and in the winter, my hands do get could sitting in front of my computer working, even if I keep the heat cranked up high. I have some of those fingerless gloves (the ones that are open on the end) and those are great.

Hi cblackink, sorry I haven't responded to this but I never got any notice from Mylot that I had a response.....go figure. Maybe that's all I have too is poor circulation but the computer makes my hands like ice, brrrr. Fingerless gloves, huh?....maybe I'll give them a shot and see if that helps......great idea!....Thanks again and you take care.

It might be kinda fun watching you try to type real words with mittens on!! My Mother and aunt both had the surgery it has helped for years. Mom decorates wedding cakes and squeezes an icing bag over 40 hrs a week. But her surgery took care of one wrist and it's been many years.

Just maybe an idea. If your hands get cold, get mittens, but cut the tips off, it'll allow you to still type but keep most of your hands warm I used to have carpel tunnel bad..of course people would say from computer work..bologna! Any repetitive type work with ones hands can trigger it off including housecleaning (good excuse not to do so much..LOL). I have my own little ritual when I get a bout..I brew up sage, drain and chill it then cut up a paper towel, saturate it with the sage solution, but first apply that Miracle Ice stuff where it hurts, place the sage compress over it, then wrap my hand and wrist like a mummy with one of those stretchy bandages, forget the exact name. Usually I "heal" in just a day, sometimes even less. Thankfully I haven't had a bout of it in a LONG time though. But, oh yes it can be SOoo painful..I have to wing it one-handed.

What a great idea with the mittens, Thanks! I don't have what I would call pain, it's basically just the coldness that drives me crazy. Pain is very minimal, but I didn't know if Carpel Tunnel could cause the coldness. I've heard of that Miracle Ice but have never tried it. You sound like your miserable with this, I'm so sorry, ugh. It must be really hard winging it with one hand, how terrible for you. Thanks for all the infor...I'll certainly remember it if it gets any worse for me. Did you have a Happy Birthday?
