According to my mom, I was horse crazy from before I could talk. They have a pix of me right after we moved to Texas in a little "Cowgirl" outfit and another of me on a play horse.
I've been to Walmart & seen this toy called "Butterscotch." Since my parents never got me a horse, this would've been a wonderful substitute if it had existed back then.

Good thing there's always the possibility of riding lessons, when there's time enough. I hope you 'll be able fulfill your dream one day! =)

Hi,
I liked horses from my childhood onwards whenever I see those movies were those warriors ride on horses those heroes ride horses I too wished I could have one. Later when I visited one of my relatives stud had a ride on few horses I got more attracted to it. Later I planned to buy few to ride in my farm.

My first time riding was when I was about 8 years old. It was only about an hour on a trail ride during March break, but I was hooked. About a year later I was sent to summer riding camp, and I had a blast. Despite being stepped on by a horse, that didn't stop me from riding again.
I've been trail riding quite a few times since then, my longest ride was a 6 hour ride and it was great.
I want to own my own horse farm, and I'm trying really hard to get this going.

Horses must be in my blood cause my parents never had horses. My dad encouraged me and my mom discouraged me from loving horses. My dad swears up and down my first words were horsy and ride horsy. lol I haven't owned horses in bout 20 yrs due to the fact I just can't afford to own one but my dad bought me a quarter horse for my 11th. b-day and I enjoyed her till I entered college in which I sold her to someone who could give her the love and time to properly care for her. My daughter is 9 now and has been pestering for a horse since she was 3. I do want her to enjoy horses but I won't buy her one till we can buy the acre around us to keep him/her on our own property. I refuse to board a horse and having to take her every day to take care of her horse.

When I was a kid, my aunt and uncle had a farm complete with cows, chickens, pigs and goats. They also had 6 horses. One of which was a real mean one. That gelding wouldn't let anyone on him to ride.
I was about 4 and decided I was going to ride him. Being too short, I walked up to the horse and using his tail as a ladder, pulled myself up and hopped on his back and started to ride. My aunt saw me, all of 4, riding this horse that she couldn't get near and what was the kicker was I was riding bareback, leaned over and had put my arms around his powerful neck. We walked liks this for a few minutes until my mother and aunt came flying out of the house and wanted to rescue me. My uncle tried to mount the horse and promplty got bucked off, but the minute he put me on the horse, he was an angel.
And so began my love affair with horses.

I got involved with horse because my best friend when I was in 4th grade had horses. The first time I rode a horse I was hooked. That started my love for horses. We rode her horses every day during the summer, and as often as we could during the school year.
I didn't get my first horse until I was a freshman in high school. I traded my motorcycle for a 2 year old mare. Since then, I have always had horses except for when I was in the service.
I can't say horses are in my blood, but I did get to spend a summer working for my great uncle who raises Peruvian Pasos the summer I was 17. Other than my great aunt who had one old farm horse, they were the only people in my family with horses.
It's funny but I ended up with one son who's highly involved with horses and is majoring in equine production in college, and one who wants nothing to do with horses, he's into motorcycles, so I guess that is in your blood too.

I can't remember when I didn't love horses or anything connected with them. I remember as a little girl my friend and I used to play pretend with stick horses, then as we got older we read everything we could get our hands on that dealt with horses, and later we drew pictures of horses (I was not the best at drawing but my friend was very talented). I got my first horse when I was 12. My father bought him for me for my birthday even before he was born. It was awesome as when we went to the stable so the owner, Al and his wife, could tell me that Missy's foal would be mine, she was in labor and so it was actually born on my birthday. I called him Knicker as when I touched him as he lay there his mama knickered to him. I believed she was telling him it was okay for me to pet him.
As an adult I ran a horse rescue for many years (Rainbow Acres Horse Rescue) and saved many horses that were bound for auction or needed a new home because the owner could not keep them anymore, but then due to life's circumstances I was horseless for several years.
Currently I live on an 80 acre farm and we have 9 horses. I am living my dream on a horse farm with a wonderful partner who loves horses as much as I do. I wish everyone could be this happy.

My family has no connection with horses and I grew up in a city, so I have no idea where my horse enthusiasm came from. All I remember is that as soon as I saw horses I liked them.

I was rasied on a hobby farm, and my mother trained Tennessee Walkers. I was never naturally drawn to them or interested in riding. Just touching, and being in the field with them, surrounded by them. It wasn't till we moved to the city and everything I loved and had was stripped from me, that I fought to gain a sense of it back. I started riding lessons, and a year after we bought a horse. I was able to bond with him and create a partnership. To me that is what draws me to horses, not winnings, earnings, competitions, but a bond and trusting partnership. So rare and so special.

I have loved horses since before I can remember. My mom rode horses and said that she had rode a little while she was pregnant. I guess that means that I have been riding since before I was born. My grandpa had horses and my Grandma says I was riding since before I could walk. She said that I was about 2 years old and badly sick with a fever when we went to the forth of July parade. My grandpa was riding his horse through the parade and my granny said that I started throwing a fit wanting to get on the horse with him. She said that I was so horse crazy that I sick or not was going riding. they let me go. I do not remember this. I got my first horse at eight. I of course picked her because she was pretty but turned out she was a little wild. We got another horse when I was ten that was better suited for me. I rode him for hours almost everyday. Sat. and Sun. mornings I would get up before dawn and ask my sleeping parents if I could go riding. They would say yeah. I would get back in the afternoons and get a spanking because my parents didn't know where I was. I would tell them that I had asked them to go riding but they wouldn't remember that I had told them. After that I made sure to ask and then leave a note. spent most of my life riding until my thirties.

I started riding horses regularly when I was six, and I haven't stopped. I became interested in horses when I was about two years old, however, and as my mom tells me, I loved to look at the horse pictures in little picture books and see horss whenever we went some-place. They are wonderful creatures, and I plan to make them my life's work.
