Hair Loss n premature Balding...... Check your kidneys!

Are you aware tht 1 of the common cause of hair loss n premature balding is due to weak kidneys? this is confirmed by doctors.
A friend of mine started losing hair after using overnight left over hair dye. Within a week she was Completely Bald! Not a single hair on her scalp. Obviously, she blamed the hair dye for her 'loss'. She went to the govt hospital n a doc told her to do a test on her kidneys. Tests showed tht she hv weak kidneys (not serious kidney prob).
Another case.. a man started losing hair (no reason)at the back of his head. Eventually you can see 2 'islands' there. He went to consult doc, n was told to check his kidneys. Test confirm weak kidneys.
Both went for ganotherapy n was treated. Hair started to grow within a mth after ganotherapy.

That is a nice piece of information. Kidney problems are mostly detected late. One problem is that the earlier symtoms are likely ignored. It's good that she got to know her health problem.

If this is true, then why is it that my father who has an end stage kidney failure and undergoing 2x a week dialysis has still lots of hair. Also I observe those persons undergoing dialysis in the dialysis center still have full of hair and no one is bald there.
It is natural that we lost some hair everyday and our hair grows to replace the lost hair. Extreme hair loss and baldness is a result of many causes, some due to the shampoo we use, or other products we apply on the hair, other cause maybe due to hormonal and chemical imbalance in our body and some maybe due to hereditary reasons.

Hi joyce,you are right. Hair loss or premature balding cld be due to MANY reasons. Tht is why when doc told my friend to check her kidneys, we were surprised. Why kidney???
As you mention, dialysis patients still hv their head full of hair. Moreover not all cancer patients undergoing chemo losses their hair.
The explaination given was some chemical imbalance in the kidneys tht weakens the hair roots. Not kidney failure. 2 different doctors gave the same reasons. I guess they cant be wrong,right?

Hi mushroomlady! Really? have not known that, all the while I knew that hair loss may be caused by chemicals that you constantly exposed your hair to and can also be attributed to genetics. However, that is good information. I have been having falling hair and I am scared that one day, it might get too excessive so i have been very careful in choosing shampoos. Although, my hair fall is not excessive, it is be good if I have my kidneys checked too. Thanks for the information. Take care and have a nice day. :)

Oh my God! I should better consult a doctor about my kidney. ive been losing my hair more and more everyday. and since im way to far of being a bald i didnt take it seriously. Cause i know its normal to lose some hairs everyday. thanks for posting this one! ^-^

Hi cdparazo.. You do hv beautiful hair. You are doing the right thing by drinking lots of water. In fact we need to drink at least 3 litres a day.

Two years ago I cut my hair so short that I could not grip it with my fingers. It was too damaged and I wanted to start over. If I woke up bald, I would probably die of a heart attack. I have a head full of beautiful, curly, thick hair and I do not want to lose it ever.
That had to be pretty horrible. Especially, for the woman. I have never heard of such a thing in my life, but I guess anything is possible.

Hi fren, U are lucky fo hv healthy hair. I had a shock when I saw what happened to my friend. I try to hide my feelings so she wont feel so bad. Initially I too did not belief tht kidney is the culprit. We all blame on the hair dye. Thx for your response.
