Robbers shot to death!

I just saw something on CNN that I found most disturbing. An older guy called the emergency number to report that a couple of guys were robbing the house next door and that he had a gun. The person on the phone tried to convince him to stay indoors, but the guy kept insisting on using his gun. The person insisted several times, but then the guy left, one heard the gun being prepared and then came the two shots! The two guys were killed and now they are threatening to prosecute the guy, as he was not protecting his own property, but the neighbours! It is not that I agree with shooting, but then again how is one supposed to react when one watches something of this nature from your own window?

I feel he should be prosecuted. He murdered 2 people. It was not his home/things so he should have left it alone and let the cops handle it. Why call the cops or emergency number and then just handle it yourself by going over there and shooting people. Maybe the guy didnt know for sure who those people where?? What if they had permission to go into the house by the owners??? I know my neighbors don't check in with me and tell me who is or is not allowed in there house. Im not saying this is the case but how is anyone to know what is really going on at the neighbors house?

The policeman on the phone told the guy repetedly to stay inside the house, that whatever they were taking was not worth shooting anybody for, but the guy insisted till he fired those two shots! There was no self defence and it was not his property, so I am not sure how the old guy will fare now. I guess it would be a good idea to keep your neighbours informed of things, just in case.

I would have shot them if they were robbing my house. If they were robbing my neighbor I would just call the police and let them handle it. At any rate I'm still glad the robbers were killed LOL
