LOL Poor you!! I would just do my best to change the subject as much as I could. My best friend has a friend like this, I cant take it sometimes. I bite my tongue a lot around her! She fun and I like her, but she always talking!! I want to tell her SHUT UP! LOL
We went to eat a few Sundays ago, and while we were at the table she was saying how full she was, and since it was a nice little drive back, she was going to sleep on the way home. I was thinking THANK GOODNESS!!! Oh hell no, she talked the whole way back home. Neither me or my friend said anything other than Whaaaaaat? No way! Wow! Are you serious? LOL So much for her sleeping!

I do have a relative who is like that and when you
are talking to her you actually have to decipher the answer to your question out of numerous things she just rattled off like that. I usually keep my phone away from my ear if she is speaking contrinuously or sometimes I just keep humming along. She is the only close relative and is very helpful and has a good heart so I can not hurt her by not listening stillshe gets on people's nerves sometime.I have n one but her so I just ignore it.

I turn of as in I am listening but I am not and then after a while I will stop them and ask them if they want a coffee and then I will change the subject and if the Person keeps trying to go back to talking about themselves I will interupt at all times and I know better not have the Person come round again lol

If heavens would just allow me, I'd build a monument for them right on there and put them there so that can now enjoy what it is to be above all others -literally!LoL
I get tired of it, since I always believe that a conservation can be healthy if we just talk with sense and sometimes spice it up with humor. But if that person's mouth is always 24/7, non-stop UPLIFTING themselves, then it's better to take a nap or whole day than waste your time with them!LoL

LOL I have a neighbour like that and she often drops by to visit (which I don't mind from time to time). She starts to ask me questions about my day and then interrupts me and talks about what's going on in her life. I don't mind listening either but sometimes it gets too much.
I have on occassion cut the conversation and have said that I have to go somewhere or get stuff done. It may sound mean but either I sit there the whole time and listen or cut the discussion so I don't have ot listen anymore.
I think some people don't realise they talk a lot and because I am there listening they just go on and on and on. I don't think her husband listens to her when he gets home. She is mostly on her own and has no children.

Or even if they do let you change the subject to somethink else, you feel like they aren't paying attention. Then they change the subject back, or even interrupt what you are saying, tottaly disregarding the fact that you were actually talking. Yeah, I know someone like that.

I don't know that this has happened to me but I would not want to be mean either, and I am a great listener..Now if the person needs a shoulder to cry on or just someone to talk to about a specific problem then that is okay...but if all they do is talk about themselves (without a needed reason) than that would get on my nerves as well...I would suggest that you try to change the subject or maybe just reverse the tables and go on and on about yourself and see what happens..See how that person responds to that...Of course, I don't know that this is something I would be able to do...LOL..Now, if this person is someone I see all the time, then I would say, "okay, I have heard it a million times, can we please talk about something else besides you?" They may get upset, but that is life, deal with it...LOL

Hi TerryZ! haha..i get what you mean. I am a good listener too but when someone talks all about themselves and most of the time how that person and this person is doing it wrong and she is the one who can only do it perfect, wow! that is making me so freak out. So what I do when I am in the company of such persons, I try to excuse myself from time to time and sometimes I just shut my mind off from whatever she is talking about and let my mind wander on and off. haha..It is hard so I do avoid people like that as much as I can. Take care and have a nice day. :)

LOL me too, i am also a good listener, because i have to. I am a manager in a company, and everyday i have to listen to our staffs tell me their problems, requests and private things. some of them are really talktive. I have to listen carefully though i am a little boring. I think every people should try to learn to be a good listener, because through that, you can make other happy and also you can show your respect to them, the most important is you can learn many things if you would like to listen to others. So try to listen, and you will find it is good!
