My little 13 month old boy is just fascinated by toilet paper. Every time I go in there, he goes straight for it and just starts unrolling it. It's cute, but so frustrating at the same time. Does or did your little one do the same thing at this age?

My daughter is 9 months and she has recently discovered toilet paper. She has only unrolled it a little bit so far. I dread the day she realizes just how much of that stuff there is on the roll.

Well, our little boy really discovered how much 'fun' he can have with it once he could walk away with it. LOL

I started distracting my daughter by putting her on the potty chair whenever she follows me in the bathroom. She actually goes in the potty about 75% of the time. I just tell her that if she wants to be in there then she has to go potty.

My son is 14 months and loves it too. He also loves to get into pretty much anything he shouldn't. Why can't kids this age be fascinated by their toys? I guess it's the things they don't get as much time to explore. I just take it off the holder and put it up higher. He will eventually forget about it and move on to something else.

That's what I do with my little one. He cries at first, but then toddles out of the room and goes and plays with his toys. He also gets into everything he's not supposed to get into. We have the house pretty much baby proofed, except the bathroom, because we keep the door closed and the drawers of our dressers and as soon as he can he goes straight for those few things. It drives us crazy sometimes, and other times we find it irresistibly adorable! I guess it's part of being a parent, huh?

It is part of parenting. I think it's cute when he gets into some things, other things are a pain. But at this age they are so easily distracted that it's not hard to get them to move on to something else.

I would have to say yes,I have not found any child of this age that is not fasinated by anything they can move, unroll or get into.at this age,you might try getting him to sit on a potty while you are in there, don't expect him to know what to do,but get him cumfortable with it,you might find this to be abig help in his potty traing in a few short months. if you have any questions, please ask,I am always glad to help.

Thanks for your advice, Mac. You posted in another of my questions and I have to tell you that we are going to start potty training and that would include sitting him there while im in there. We must be on the same wave length - it's weird. thanks again for your great suggestions. nica

LOL. We have to take out of the roller and put it up higher, he hates it, but forgets about it soon enough.
