Has anyone seen the band in concert since Karl left?
I was at the 1000th show and was shocked to find out then that he was not with the band any longer. I love the band and what they do, but now I just feel a bit weird when I listen to them knowing Karl is gone.
I know him being gone is not the end, but it is just strange.
Bill and Keith are excellent musicians and will do a fine job taking over the lead parts, but Karl will be missed.

Yeah, I go see them as often as I can. They're good friends of mine, and I speak with them often as well. I went to their 15th reunion show, and it was excellent. Then I saw them in my hometown a few months later, and Karl retired shortly after. It was a devastating blow, I tell ya. It's harder with him than with the others that have come and gone (though I'll say that Bill Rieger was tough to lose too), because Karl and J have been there since the very beginning. When you lose a "staple" like that, it's always extremely hard to see the band without him.
Anyway...Karl will be missed tremendously. I'll really miss his drumstick guitar picking! :)
