Are you watching the series on TV based on the books written by James Patterson? Do you think they do justice to the books or are they a little off and so much shorter?

I did not read a lot of the books. But I tried to watch the show twice. I found the real-world presentation of the characters to be so much different than I pictured and not nearly as interesting or entertaining. The televised version left me so dissatisfied I stopped watching. The characters seem more shallow and stereotypical than in the books.

I agree. I too found the show lacking. The only one who is even close to being like the character from the book is the reporter and you don't see her much. The excitement you feel when reading the book was lost somewhere when filming the show.

I have watched the show a few times. I think the books were much much better.James Patterson is one of my favorite authors.

I made a special point to watch the first episode because I enjoyed the books. I should have known better as I rarely enjoy shows/movies as much as the books...lol. I didn't care for the show at all and found it hard to follow. Too bad because the books are excellent but the series writer/s are definitely off the mark on this one.

Maybe James Patterson should have been there to help direct the show or to see that it was equal to the book. I read that Steven King is happy with what has been done with the new ending that has been given to "The Mist". It isn't going to be the same as his book.
