Wouldn't it be nice if no viruses existed?

Well I was thinking today what could happen to my computer when I format my computer and install a fresh copy of Windows and go surf the net without any protection. I figured out that it would propably get so many virus infections that I will have to make a disk format again in only a few days. The internet is so unsafe place. I think that will never change and we will always have to use major protection programs that slow down the computer and overheat the CPU. But wouldn't it be nice if the internet was a clean place with no viruses and trojans and worms that make it so unsafe for begginers and even advanced users? What are your thoughts on this topic?

i think i disagree with you.. as a college student who is taking bsit.. its a creativity for us to create a good virus.. yeah its a disaster to have it.. and adding pain on us but without it life is boring.. theres no excitement... and that one thing we can show our creativity!!!

Creativity? Destroying computers?! No way. That is in no way creativity that is just crime. A good virus maybe good for you but it is bad for someone else. That someone maybe just a computer begginer that doesn't know anything about protection or mature websites or trojans or worms... That is not right.

thats my point!!!! if a virus will enter ur computer.. then u will have the experience.. and the biggest point is ur a beginner.. if u encounter a virus then ull find way to protect your pc then u will know how to protect it.. u learn from the virus.. am i right.. its a test to u...u learn from it that u dont know and u can share it with ur ader frens and we can create another of it to test u again.. hehehehe tnx!!!

Have you ever thought about why viruses existed and why anti-virus programs are also existing? Ever thought that makers of anti-virus programs are the ones who makes and spreads viruses in order for you to buy their product (anti-virus software)?
When I think about it, its impossible to make the internet a safe place.

Yea maybe that's so but I find it highly unlikely. They are agains crime and since virus making is a crime they shouldn't do it at any cost. Except that... there already are many hackers that make viruses and I think that is enough.

If you would stop going to harmful sites then you wouldn't need to install a fresh copy of windows on your computer. It's great that viruses exist because some people have a talent and make a living from getting rid of them for you.

You cannot control the evil thought of somebody have talent to create a virus. I advice to you to protect your PC against these all kind of malicious script. Did you know virus is commercially use and exploited to take advantage for profit? So you should already understood now why Security Software Company sell Antivirus program because they have programmers hired in their company to proliferate created virus to prone the risk every networks and PCs. So if you not purchase their product possibly your PC now would damage then vital information would compromise.
So to escape this exploitation I have bright idea which there is a company dedicated for Free security solution without any purchasing license fee. Try to download an antivirus program free in any obligation, at www.comodo.com I think everybody glad this powerful and lifetime protection that benefits mankind.

Yea why is that so? Why don't the hackers that make the viruses (usually script kiddies send them) just go and work some legal thing instead of trying to stole people information - that is unknown to me.

It will be an ideal situation. But viruses and other malwares have given an opportunity for microsoft and other software vendors to improve their product standards.
The situation is somewhat similar to our own existence as a human being in this universe. If there are no virus and bacterias, average human life span will increase by atleast another ten to twenty years, but we have them everywhere!

Yea but hackers too don't want to be infected by a virus in real life so why should they infect computers in the cyber world. That is so not ok.

Actually, I live in the Utopia you describe. No antivirus, no antispyware, yet no infection. Besides Windows Firewall, the only active defense software I run is Arovax Shield, which is very light. Between Windows Firewall, Arovax Shield, and restricted permissions to the system32 folder, I get perfect scores across the board in PC Security Test 2007, as well as a perfectly carefree browsing experience. Here's how: http://invincible-windows.blogspot.com/

The internet is fairly safe, it just depends what you do. Usually you get viruses from e-mail attachments or mature websites (there are exceptions but for the most part). If your mad about viruses, you should be mad at the individuals who created them "for fun". Yes, for the most part viruses are designed by hackers (computer programers) to see how far a their "package" can travel and sometimes to collect personal data.

It would be nice to not have computer problems but viruses do help us improve the system. Without trojans, we wouldnt be doing remote logins. Worms are just like automated systems too, they search for data in your PC and sends it to the owner.
Viruses, trojans and worms are the price of progress. The automobile that uses gas wouldnt be here if we have not started with the very unsafe steam engine right?
