Do you have friends or family from your daily life that are myLot members?

I haven't invited any family members to join myLot.
Sometimes, I use myLot as a place to vent my frustrations regarding family. Some things that I say, I would prefer they not see.
My children to read some of my discussions from time to time, but I don't think I would want my parent's or siblings to read some of my discussions.
I have visited myLot while using my father's computer, so there is a chance that myLot has popped up in his history.
I don't think I have said anything that he would find hurtful, but I think all families have their "challenges" and their topics that they avoid in order to keep family peace.
Do you share myLot with your family? Why or why not?

Yes, I sure did =) my mom actually just sent me an e-mail on here asking me what this is exactly. I dont have a problem with it. I look at it this way....they vent about you too! =P I guess my family just has tough skin and they know if I say something a little out of the ordinary...I'm probablly just having a bad day..or they really pissed me off. I say invite whoever...and vent away! =)

Unfortunately my family isn't like that.
They enjoy saying whatever is on their mind, but it seems that whenever I take a stand, they can't handle it.

I invited my brother, and one of my friends but neither one of them really participate on mylot.
My boyfriend and I had some problems when I first started. He didnt like some of the discussions I was responding too, so I started responding to more appropriate discussions. He was right, so now I dont mind who reads my discussions. besides the more people I invite, the more money i make!

You are a very smart individual. I don't share Mylot with my family and close friends for the same reason. I have nieces and nephews who are old enough to blog on here and they would make excellent referrals. But, like you, this is my place to vent. If they should ever find out, some of the things would hurt them and that is not my intent for doing this.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one doing this.
As you said. The intent isn't to hurt anyone. Just to do some venting.

I invited all my close friends and relatives to join mylot. But they dont believe in it. And I just have to prove to them, that its not only earning money you get here, but also sharing anything you want through posting, and discussing any topics that you wishes.

I have shared it with my brother, I don't know if he pursues posting here at mylot. He said he is losing some words and doesn't have any much idea to share.
I just told him to answer whatever post you desire, share your idea about it.
Share your brilliance fellows! Thanks for the space!

I have invited some of my friend, but none of them are interessted. Also all of my family and friend, our first language is french and some of them don't really understand english.
But I think it's better like that because I can talk about everything here :)

I do have personal friends in mylot but not family members. There are both pros and cons with having them in mylot. To a certain extent, I realised it might be easier to bring some difficult points over to them via discussions instead of telling them in the face. However, there could be some embarrassment moments. Overall, I feel having family members in the mylot family can too improve relationships.

My sister is a member, but she's hardly ever on MyLot. She doesn't have the Internet at our mom's house yet, so she only really gets to MyLot when she's at my house. My sister is CaitBaby. It's hard to answer some of her discussions sometimes, simply because I know all about it and just have nothing further to say or, I dunno. It's just hard to respond to her sometimes. Ha ha.

I agree with you and so understand where you are coming from. I have not invited any family or friends here, altho I am sure they would love it. I choose to remain aunotomous(sp) and feel free to express myself honestly. I do know that if certain people were on here and like you, i would not be deliberatly insulting but I would for sure be more guarded with my words so as not to offend.

None at all. I've decided not to invite them here, because like you, I had at one point vented out something about my mother. It was a one time venting out moment that made me post a discussion about mothers not being always right after all.
Sometimes we do need to take the time and the ways to let out whatever frustrations or hurt that's inside of us. And this site helps in a way that we get unbiased advices.

No, I don't have friends or family from my daily life that are mylot members. Trying to get them to join is like pulling teeth with your bare hand.

My brother-in-law was actually the one who first invited me to join MyLot and helped me get started. Then I got my husband on MyLot and invited my dad and father-in-law. I respect my family too much to ever say anything bad about them online, so it really doesn't matter. I had some friends on here before and that was a really bad idea! They were going through some things in their marriage and some other things and they asked for an opinion ... I gave my opinion and what a MESS! Lesson learned though!!

We have the same situation, I don't also invite my friends and family. I write some stuff here about them. Aside from my blog, I also use mylot as my outlet whenever I'm depressed. I write discussions about my problem. Like for now, I've written a discussion about my problem with my boyfriend. At least I have mylot to turn to when it comes to situations like this. I get to hear other people's opinions. And our friends and family will not be able to read it.

Hi,there! I haven't invited any family members or friends to join mylot yet.One reason is that I'm here only for a short time. Actually I'm thinking about to invite some of my friends to join mylot cause I feel this is a place that we can really share and discuss about sth. I might not introduce my family members.Just as what you said, there's sth that I'd like to share with my friends but maybe not proper for the family members.I also don't wanna make them worry about anything:) Thanks for the discussion and have a good day!
