Just another day?

There are soooo many people in government and elsewhere who want to take GOD out of schools and Christmas and Easter. They want GOD taken off money and plaques in official building and you name it, a certain percentage of society just want to take GOD from everywhere. So I am thinking that these people need to be at work on these "paid holidays" they get. Since to them it is just another day I think I should get mail on Christmas and Easter (Good Friday) and any other time they are sitting at home drawing big bucks on "just another day."

In the US religion doesn't belong in public buildings. Why should your god be there above other gods? As long as there are people that don't believe then it should be part of our government.
I have no problem working on religious holidays. In fact my husband usually does. He usually pulls doubles (works 16 hours) on holidays because no one else wants to work. I would love to be able to run to the store on Christmas when I need something but I can't because obviously everyone in the country is Christian and won't need something on that day.
I do not like the idea of laws and decisions being made that effect me and are based on some religion I don't believe in. I do NOT want my children having to deal with that crap in a public school just as, I'm sure, Christians wouldn't want other religions being taught to their children and confusing them.
I don't get why Christians are so egotistical they think their god should be every where. The thought of walking into a public government building that my tax dollars help fund and seeing religious propaganda makes me want to puke. I am not paying for that crap.

So where exactly do you get the idea that is is acceptable for you to puke and moan because myself and others like me believe in our God and we have the same right to complain because you don't, that you have to complain because we do. If you don't believe that is your choice but I have as much right to protest as you do. My husband works 7 days a week and 12-14 hours a day and has for months so that has nothing to do with God. My point is you don't want to beleive but you want the benefits and believe me if you are alive on this earth you are getting the beneits of Jesus Christ!

I don't get what you are trying to say?
I suppose the fundamental problem is that I don't believe I am here on this earth because of some god so I will never agree with you on that. It is my right as an American citizen to go into buildings that I pay for with my tax dollars and not be bombarded with religious stuff that I don't believe in since this country was founded on freedom of religion.
Our country was founded because the people realized it wasn't good to have someone else's religious beliefs shoved down their throats. They wanted to be free of persecution. But now all I hear are how the 85% majority Christians are so persecuted, blah blah blah. You are a majority. You are not persecuted. Your religion is every where I look. I have to deal with on a daily basis. It doesn't bother me that you have churches on every freaking corner but it does bother me that I can park in front of my own freaking house if I happen to leave before church on a Sunday.
It doesn't bother me when people wish me a Merry Christmas but it does bother me that they believe they are the only ones that can celebrate on December 25 (because we celebrate our own secular Christmas). I don't have any problem with people praying as long as they don't force my kids to join in at a public school or waste part of the day so the Christian kids can pray because it can be done in your head whenever you want. You don't need special times to pray.
This country is not a Christian country. It is a secular one with no one religion being more important then another. If you want your 10 commandments displayed in your courthouse then be prepared to have every religion represented even ones you don't agree with like Satanism and hey, I want my right to so I can display how I believe religious people are all blind to the real truth and that there is no god. Are you ready to have a display next to your nativity that says god is not real and you don't have to believe.
Are you ready for your kids to learn that their god isn't the only god they can believe in and that it is also okay to not believe because if you want to bring religion back into the schools then all religions and beliefs will be represented including my belief that there is NO god.
I highly doubt it. The Christians would be screaming that the government is corrupting their children, just as I think having Christianity pushed on mine is corrupting them.

Hi toaste,
Yes, so many people are trying to get God out of everything and then they wonder why we have the problems we do! We need God so very desperately! Those who believe otherwise are only fooling themselves.
I believe God is in control of everything no matter how hard the unbelievers try to take Him out. They will never do it. They are messing with their salvation which is very dangerous!
I am so very thankful that the Lord Jesus Christ is in my life...in every aspect of it. He blesses me everyday! He is my everything!
God bless!
