Trust and faith in common man lost

I find now a day common people do not have natural faith and trust on fellow citizen. Generally people do not want to converse with any unknown person on any subject. They try to keep aloof even in Train, Bus etc., 20 years back when I was young people used to greet the unknown fellow citizen and used to converse but now a day nobody great anybody. Why this trend? Why people changed. What is reason behind it.

The whole world has changed. We doubt because there has been too many reasons put in our faces....like stealing when the enconomy is bad people take things without thinking of how it will affect you. And when they do they violate you. The younger generation has no respect either for people's possessions. I used to be a very trustworthy person. Now I question someone's intentions. I have had too many experiences with people trying to rip me off.
