A-Rod to return to the Yankees...

It seems like their were no serious offers to ARod and his pyscho agent was completely incorrect about ARod's ability to earn a 350 million dollar contract.
So Arod went back to NY practically with his tail between his legs and received an offer that was probably more than he could've received anywhere else.
The Yankees have been reeling since the ARod and Joe Torre debacles and looked like they were going to do anything to get some positive press in the paper, especially when you consider that Jorge Posada was rumored to be heading across town to the Mets and Mariano Riveria was shopping himself on the free-agent market.
ARod and his psycho agent knew the Yanks were desperate for anything positive and they came up with their Warren Buffet charade, they Yanks bought it and now Arod is back in the fold for next year.
And that should pave the way for the others to come back and another Yankee playoff run, followed by yet another disappointing post-season.

Ok.. First, Mariano has LEFT the Yankees because he was quoted as saying that if Joe Torre does not return next season, neither will he(which is a huge dissappointment because he is an AWESOME closer, one of the best actually). Now.. as far as A Rod is considered - he hit 55 HR in regular season, but couldn't hit ONE in post season, therefore leading to Torrie being fired? And he is making 350+ Mil for a contract when Torre has been with the yankees for a decade and doesn't even come close? What about Jeter, he's the captain and I'm SURE he does not bank $350+Mil on a contract alone. He is not Barry Bonds(yes, I know he's indicted on charges) or Ken Griffey or Babe Ruth yet he acts liek he is the best of the best. Why should he outshine the rest of the players? Well, he shouldn't. And if ARod left, well, I'm sure they would find someone just as good(if not better) to replace him. And I hope Posada doesn't go anywhere, though I wouldn't blame him. Without Mariano, and Torre... well, thing's aren't looking up. And shame on ARod.

I've heard from a very reliable source that Mariano has already agreed to a contract with the Yankees and both he and Posada have both agreed in principle.
A Rod is a 3-time MVP, twice with the Yankees and he should've been an MVP with Seattle. I don't care for him as a player and I'm not very fond of him as a person, but he is among the top 3 players in baseball. There aren't many A-Rod type players available.
But I digress, Mariano, Posada and A-Rod will all be back with the Yankees next season and from what I've heard Pettitte will either be a Yankee or retire. Torre was a great manager, but it wasn't A-Rod not hitting home runs in the playoffs that got him fired. Jeter played poorly, Posada did also. Wang pitched awful and while Torre could do nothing about, it was time to go in a different direction. It's either fire the manager or fire the whole team. The manager is always the fall-guy for what the team doesn't do.

I think ARod fiasco hurt ARod more than it hurt the Yankees. I feel New York came out looking much better because it was ARod that went to the Yankees, not the other way around.
The thing that happened with Joe Torre is already forgotten about. It was news for a week because there was nothing else going on in NY. Now, it's about all about Joe Girardi and Joe Torre, who?

And the best part is the Yanks have already wrapped up Jorge Posada and Mariano Riveria for next year. Andy Pettitte is still undecided as to if he'll play again next year, but the feeling is he'll finish his career as a Yankee. I think he'll be back for another year, but then he'll retire.
Joba Chamberlain will replace Clemens in the rotation and that's a step up in skill level, as Roger was done late in the 2006 season. He shouldn't have come back for another year last season and I doubt he further tarnishes his Hall of Fame career with another comeback.
Now all George and family have to do is find another quality starter and at least one middle reliever.
