tampons or sanitary napkins?

alright, this post is not for women only. men can post too if they want. LOL. what are you comfortable using, tampons or napkins? i mean i tried using tampons once when i was a teenager but it really was not very comfortable for me. i didn't like it. i only tried it because my friends said that you really could feel them but i did!!! upto now, i still use napkins. i mean with the technology today, they make them extra, extra thin and you hardly notice you are wearing them!!! i think anyway. so guys, do you use napkins or tampons and why? i remember before horror stories about tampons too. that it got lost and the girl had to go to the hospital for it to be taken out. do you think this was true?

When I was a teenager I couldn't wear tampons because of the physicality of not being loose enough. It was very annoying because when you have your rag you can't do anything when you wear pads. I also found that they always leaked. It also grossed me out.
I wear tampons all the time now. I can swim and do everything when I wear them.

I really do find them that comfortable. I mean it is a bit umcomfortable because it is a foreign object but you get used to it. I don't know about the girl getting it stuck in there. You'd have to leave it in for a really long time and be really not intelligent for that to happen.

hahaha... you are so nice monkeyrose. not so very intelligent? hehehe. but i think they said that wearing tampons is so comfortable that she forgot she had her period!!! well, maybe, its just a telltale. thanks for posting

I hate tampons. I hate pads. I hate my period. Could never get the tampons to where I didnt feel them, pads are like diapers to me. Now I am on Depo, no more period,pads or tampons. WHOO HOOOO!!! For 4 years now. So that makes me happy.

i am scared of depo... but a lot of my friends are on it. they said that there are no side effects really on them. but my mum was on it when she was my age and she said that it had really bad side effects on her. what about you? do you experience acne or something like that?

i, too, wear pads. i tried tampons a few years ago when i first started my period and it wasn't comfortable for me either though. i think using tampons would be easier, but i just haven't yet tried using them again.

yeah, would like to try them out again. to see if they will be comfortable now. cant find any here though. well maybe tampons are not for me afterall.

I generally just use pads. But if I know I'm going swimming then I'll use a tampon.

I don't know if the horror stories are true but I've heard them too. Then there is TSS that must have some connection to tampons because they put the warnings on the box. As for me I used to use tampons as a teenager but after my second child I ended up with a tipped cervix and can only use pads now. I have been thinking about trying the moon cup though. Has anyone here tried it?
