Crab Mentality...

i think crab mentality means you don't entertain any other ideas except that of what you think is right or wrong. sort of like a stubborn kind of thing. am i right? i would explain it that way

Hello MAte....Yeah its not one of the Aussie slangs we have here in Oz. It is a metaphor refers to a pot of of crabs which ones tries to escape over the side, but is relentlessly pulled down by the others and join the pot.. Hello Menctomas,We have that kind of mentality here ..Us filipinos do have that.. Example: Thomas is well paid in the company and he is making a lot of money than the others who have the same job,same time, and same amount of work, in short Thomas progress well than the others. On the other hand his colleagues tries to pull him down by means of saying something to the head office that Thomas is playing a dirty trick thats why he earns more. " Siraan Kung BAga" Because Thomas' colleagues dont want to see Thomas ahead of them.. When I worked in Japan, there are so many classic examples of this kind of Mentality. And the reason being is they dont want to see others soar high in their fields and they make an effort to create a dilemma that affects friendships and bond with in the group.
