MY onboard sound card is not working as no output coming on both speaker and mic

Hello i Have intel 845glva on board sound card has stopped suddenly playing music and i have checked the drivers of sigmatel are installed and a strange phenomenon is happening on both windows i have on my pc XP and 98 ,what can be the solution.When i yested it with microphone the mic is working as my voice is going to other person but his voice is not heard?

hmmm.. no sound but mic is ok? are you certain its not the speaker that has a problem? also, check the connection of your speaker to the sound card. c",)

actully i have checked with othe speakers and headphone same thing is there and also i have checked the connections ,they are good yu know when i play a song on my pc with my headphone on the sound is coming to other person i am chatting.I cant figure out that its a problem of motherboard or software or OS ,also have checked the BIOS also sound car is eanbled

well, we can't really tell whats wrong by knowing if the other person hears the music you're playing coz even if you don't have an active(or enabled) sound card, the other person would still be able to hear your music on his end. this is a bit strange. it can't be bios or the motherboard. the problem persists somewhere between the speaker socket and the speaker itself.

I have the same board INtel 845glva the problem is amse but slightly differs
my board dosen't show soundcard in the bios I have tried to install new bios but the problem is same

maybe you have two OS.That's the reason your sound card stopped playing music.
