Open Source Software - Looking For Some Sites...

Anyone able to define open source software, and it's benefits and non benefits? Also, does anyone know of a good open source freeware site for downloads, or pehaps you have a blog/web site. I want to add some in my computer web site in my profile. I don't need the normal freeware web sites, as I have researched dozens of them, and also I have subscribes to many. Thanks!

I think open office is a good one. Try to visit http://alphaomegaseniars.cfsites.org There are freebies there, you may be able to get some which you need. Just open the Freebies web page and choose whatever you want.

Thanks for the info - particularly free-codecs com,which has the popular k-lite pack, as I never thought about codecs...
