Decorating for holidays

When do you start decorating for the holidays? For me I decorate for only 2 holidays normally. Halloween and Christmas. Halloween I normally start around the first week in October. For Christmas it has always been a tradition in my family to start the day after thanksgiving. By start I mean going out Friday morning (after shopping of course) and cutting down the perfect tree. Coming back with it and trimming it all up nicely. Then going and digging out all of the ornaments and decorations. Well now a days I have a fake in the box tree. Cutting down is no longer an option where i am. I still want to start on Friday after thanksgiving and my honey thinks Im crazy lol. It takes a while to get everything perfect and all done. I feel why wait until the week before the holiday to rush through putting everything up and then just taking it down not long after. I don't know about anyone else but I feel I am more motivated to take it down after the holidays because by then I need a change. So just curious to find out when everyone else decorates for the holidays.
