Well the painting that was found among the trash in NY has been sold. It was sold for 1 Million Dollars. Isn't it sad that there are so many things tossed in the trash or sold at flea markets or garage sales that are worth millions? I remember a man bought a picture at a flea market just to get the frame and when he took the faded picture out there was a folded paper with it that had the first draft of the Declarations of Independence on it. He only paid $5 for it and it was worth millions. You can read more about this at my blog "Odd News and Views" http://Odd-news-and-views.blogspot.com Have you looked behind your old family portraits to see whats there? You could be looking at something worth millions.

There was also another incident when a student bought a sofa from a flea market and found paintings worth thousands under the seating cushions!

Wow. I could never imagine getting THAT lucky. I'm pretty lucky as it is but, that kind of luck is unbelievable. Could you imagine? 5 bucks turns into millions. That is so awesome. I'm going to your blogspot to read more about this one. Thanks.

People has nowadays changed the gear of their life on to faster track, and they dont have time to look or listen. Everything has become to a " Use and throw process".. When they get bored of using a thing.. not exempting the relations we have in our family, they tend to distance from it.( throw the old items) Only those, but a handful , recognise its value and try to keep them intact. This applies even to the family also. Am i correct? So i find their is nothing shocking, when one gets a painting worth one million from trash. Take care friend:)

Hi Kowgirl, I read that article too, amazing! Why cant I find something like that in the trash? lol My money worries would be over! Or maybe not!? We have a flea market every first Sunday of the month here where I live. A guy that my hubby works with found a pencil sketch of a famous Horse named Dan Patch. He paid $25 for it, and sold it for $250 later on in the summer during the World Trotting Derby here. Ive never found anything like the article you linked. That would be really neat to do though. Finding an old peice of history. I guess someone forgot about it! Bay Lay Gray xx
