howdo i add a banner or referral link to my profile

Hi! im a member of adbux and i wanted to add a banner to promote eh site or a referral link to my profile but i cant.. i ve seen some users with banners on their profiles..how do i do that..could some please explain .. i really dont understand the whole sortie html..etc etc businees ..why can i simply copy paste something?!
