The famous six-color cube puzzle is not as hard as we thought. Last semester's break, I got nothing to do at home so decided to learn the cube. My tutor, my little sister, knows how and I asked her to teach me. It was just a series of different patterns to remember. Some are short while some are long. At first I could only do one side or color of the cube but after just a few hours, I was able to complete the cube. It was so amazing and I got so addicted to it! I practiced the next day, and then got to know well all patterns. Later, I have even acquired some new moves and techniques on my own. I studied the logic of the patterns and all were logical and easy. I really thought it was hard but it is not. What's your rubic cube story? Do you know how to complete it? What patterns or techniques do you use?

I can't do it, but I know it's patterns. That's why there are people who can solve it in just a few seconds. It usually has something to do with mathematics as well. Also, people can solve it blind folded. That's the one that really gets me. I just don't know how they do that one.
I'm good with not being able to solve it. To me, it's more fun that way.

I got hooked on that silly thing back when my daughter was a child and got one. For awhle there I think I played with it more than she did but none of us - my daughter, my husband or I - ever got it. So, what will it take for you to tell me your secret techniques? I'd love to shock the heck out of my family but doing it at long last! You gave me the idea now that I must get one for each of my grandkids; only problem is, I'll just bet one of them, if not both, figures it out on their own.

Really? Then why is it that I never get to solve it? hehe. There are times that I'm trying very hard, like more than an hour. And I just ended up in despair. The most I've done is 2 colors, or 2 sides.
How did you do it? I wish someone could teach me.

You're so lucky your sister knows how to solve it. I don't know of anyone who could. Maybe I'll just search on the internet about it. Actually, I've learned about techniques to solve rubix cube only in this discussion. I haven't heard of it before. Now, I'll try to find the answers.

i could also solve a rubix cube, like what you have said it is not that hard to solve it, it is just a matter of patters and some logic.
in building the first layer, i use the cross pattern.
i am really not that great at rubix cube, but i can finish it with less than 2 minutes. hehehe
could you finish it less than 2 minutes just like me?
or have you ever tried to time your self, when solving a rubix cube?
