From my house to yours wherever you might be, we have a lot to be Thankful for, and I wanted to wish you all an Enjoyable day with family and friends. I have to work and then my husband and I and maybe a co-worker or two are just going to have a quiet dinner and reflect on things we are Thankful for.
Do you have things that you reflect on when you get together with your family, or do you just go out to eat and pretend like it is just another day?

I'm probably going to go out to eat with my husband. There is a restaurant nearby that is open on Thanksgiving day and has a buffet of turkey, chicken, and a lot of other goodies.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours as well.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too. I really don't like thanksgiving, I don't need a day to be thankful, I am thankful everyday. You are probably wondering why I wouldn't like thanksgiving, its because I think about the sadness and the lonely people. There are so many people that don't have anyplace to go or don't have any friends and family. We have so much poverty and hungry people, and I just think about them. How do they feel today, what are they doing. I am thankful, I will be having turkey today, my mom will be over for dinner. She is doing so much better since her surgery. My son is cooking the bird, I will do the other stuff, my mom is bring some stuff too. I wish you a wonderful day, take care.

Happy Thanksgiving. I am a Canadian and we had ours in October. We had our family over but no turkey. Daughter-in-law allergic to the celery they put in the stuffings. We had ham, potatoes, vegetables, and salad and pumpkin pie and apple pie for dessert along with ice cream and whipped cream. I hope you enjoy your getting together and we will be thinking of our American friends and all the things they are thankful for.

Well, that is true that it is Celebrated I think only in Canada and in the USA. It is a time for us to reflect, and remember the things we are Thankful for, and a time to enjoy with family.

I have so much to be thankful for. My family, my daughters, and my husband who is home for the first time in three years (he is a soldier). All my friends and their husbands who protect our country.

I am having a great day. And I am very thankful. After doing a lot of cooking yesterday I was dreading having to deliver these meals all over town. Then to my surprise my friends husbands said they would do it so we could start on our Thanksgiving dinner. This was a big help for us. I gives us time to relax and get back in the holiday mood.
Hope you have a safe and happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
I am in Canada where we had our Thanksgiving in the beginning of October, so come Christmas I will be ready for turkey once again! I agree that we have a lot to be thankful for and I was sure to be thankful when we had our turkey day in October!

My Thanksgiving traditions are a little different than some but on Thanksgiving - ie- later today!- we go the the Plaza Lighting ceremony in Kansas City - This is when they turn on the Christmas lights on the plaza they also have a big fireworks display and a concert from people like the TransSiberian Orchestra. It is amazing to watch the children's eyes when they turn on the lights! And then we visit the big FAO Shwartz toy store and the kids point out all of the cool stuff and make a wish list a mile long. Then we go for hot chocolate! The kids love this and giving up eating Turkey on that day is soooooo worth it!
But I LOVE to cook so the Saturday after thanksgving I invite all of my family and friends over to my place and I cook lots of great food, we play games sometimes I have my nephew bring in his horses and we go horseback riding, then before anyone can eat we go around the room and everyone tells one thing that they are especially thankful for that year. This has been our tradition for many years and will be for yers to come no matter who it upsets that we don't make it for dinner on the day because to me it is not the specfic day that makes it special it is the traditions and fellowship that its all about!
