How long can you stay in front of the computer?

well i can stay for some 8-10 hours.however i do not sit continously for tihs time period.after every hour i take a 5-10 mins walk.and also in between i drink something which keeps me energetic and refreshing.do you have an eyesight problem.because most the time when people have eye sight problem but they donot go for check ups then looking at screen gives them headache.furthermore never ever sit infornt of computer with dim light.it affects your eyes straight away.wash your eyes in between so as to give them cooling effect.

honestly, i could probably sit in front of the computer all day. as long as i had a comfortable chair, and of course an interesting site or people to talk to, i'd be fine. hahah. it's sad, but true.

I am usually on myLot about 10 hours a day on average. But I do other things leaving the desk for a few minutes a lot of times during this time. I don't get a headache but my vision gets blurry and my back starts to bother me. But I have sat here for 8 hours straight playing Poker many a nigh. HAHAHAH!! I have no idea as afr as tips other than to take a rest ever so often for the eyes sake. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I never stay there without any break.The longest is about 10 hours with some break standing up for some drink and lunch.And if not,my eyes will feel awful even for 2 hours.

Hi, I would love to spend up to 5 hours on my computer, but I am flat out being able to spend 2 hours on here. I have a 7 month old baby. she seem to always require my attention when I want to spend time on my computer. If I am really interested in what I am doing I could spend hours doing it. but now a days, I dont have much spare time for doing things for a duration of time.

Believe me I sit in the fromt of computer minimum 6-7hrs daily. I don't have any other work to do. I like to enjoy computer and Internet. I makes too many friends and communicate with messages daily. I think you are older member of mylot. I want to know how much you have earned with this site and give me some tips to earn more and more money. thanks for this discussion.

Look, for my work i have to stay 8 hrs per day atleast for 5 days. But i move out from it quite often to give my eyes some rest. I have become habituated on being in front of computer for 6-7 hrs but not at a stretch. If you want to stay long, just move out or take a walk every 1 hr or move your eyes every 20 min.

I can't sit/stand for extended periods so I'm always doing other stuff while on the puter. Stuff that requires me to get up and move around, otherwise my back will give out on me.

Hi lucky_witch! Before going to work I spend around 2 hours in front of the computer. While at work I check my oficial mails occationally maybe totalling to another 2 hours. After work and before I sleep I use the computer for around 4 hours.

I can stay in front of the computer for a really long time. I remember when I was younger, sometimes I stayed out at night until next day when I was playing the computer games. These happy days won't go back any more:)

i can stay for 3-4 hours in the computer as long as i am on mylot as well as chatting with friends in face book and yahoo messenger. but i think i can go longer when playing computer games is our topic. the only problem when i stay too long infront of the computer is my migraine is starting to crank my head. good day.

I think my highest record is around ten hours... My eyes feels so tired after that...

hi there, lucky_witch! it depends. most of the times, i can stay as long as 6-7 hours. after that, i have a migraine. but sometimes, i can stay for 12-15 hours if i watch a movie using my pc. sometimes, i will have a migraine. sometimes, i don't. it is a complex thing for me because if a watch a movie using my pc for 12-15 hours a day, i rarely get migraines. but if i stay in front of the computer doing research and such above 7 hours, i get the migraines. and my migraines will stay for almost whole day or a half-day which is really disgusting because i cannot even read a book, watch television, tune in to radio, or even hear a loud noise . i think my only tip is that take a break for a least half an hour and let your other sibling-if you have one- parents, relatives and etc... use the pc.

The longest I have stayed in front of a computer was about 9 hours - writing software programs. I think if you are really interested and focused on what you are doing on the computer, the time flies by. I would have been on the computer longer but had to go to the bathroom really bad!

I can only stay on for about an hour myself , before I get a headache ... I usually get up and move around , or clean or something just to give my eyes a rest ...

hmm . well . i havent really tested myself with how long can i sit in front of the computer .. for the sole reason that .. i dont get much free time .. also . also . nt very mch fond of it .. well . once chatted with my freidn for bout 1 n half hours ..n also .. had some researching to do .. so i wouold say .. the longest i have sat in front of compu .. as yet is around 3 hrs :) .. well .. it all depends on the need ... if u have to sit in front of compu. for some imp. work . then . it could be almost the whole day too :)

I actially work in front of a computer so I know that it is many hours per day. Sometimes up to 15 hours a day. Then of course I go home and still check my email, and chat with a few of my online friends. I heard though that it really is not great for your eyes to be in front of the computer for tat long. I usually dont get a headache. But a lot of the times my contact lenses get dried out, and I have to use rewetting drops. It usually gets better thought if I can leave the office on a break and get outside for some fresh air.

I can stay more than 10 hours in front of my computer, but I have to take a break every 2 or 3 hours. If you want to stay long there, you've got to take a break often and to relax your eyes, like you close them or you look away. And you have to eat sugar too :) But I don't recommend you to stay that long and I'm sure you have better things to do than to stay more than 5 hours in front of your computer :)
