Telecommuting: good idea, or what?

I do quite a bit of telecommuting, and I work on sites all over the world these days, which is one reason I haven't been on myLot much lately. The money's OK, but there's a lot of jobs which aren't worth the amount of time. I was looking at craigslist and going through every city in the US. By the time I got to Phoenix, I'd applied for a few, and found some real cheapskate jobs. Any experiences, good or bad?
