I don't think there is one best brand. There are different qualities for different phones. I'm currently using 2 phones (official and personal). I split into 2 numbers because I didn't want to be disturbed with work when I'm off work ;p For official, I'm using Dopod 818 pro. Got it last year for S$858 without plan. It's a great pda phone which fulfills most of my needs (ie. wireless, mobile msn, emails, schedule, MS Word/Excel, pdf reading and my bible). For personal, I'm using LG KU990 Viewty. Got that at S$398 with 2 years plan. Love the touch screen function and the interactive screensaver :o)

I used Nokia mobile phones ever since because I find it user-friendly and easy to memorize its functions. I’ve tried using other brands because my sister has a non-Nokia phone and though I find it better-than-Nokia functions but I still go for Nokia. My favorite phone belongs to Nokia actually.

First of all, mobile phone is NOT a necessity...at least for some people like myself, I can do without it...but like you said, its convenient...
Secondly, there is no such thing as "which brand is the best"...Some people like Nokia, some people like iPhone, some people like Sony Ericsson etc
I use Nokia, only because the phone I have is free....I won it from a lucky draw

I use Nokia 6288 and I got it for free with an offer from my mobile service provider. It is the first "high-tech" phone that I've got, so it really means something special to me. I found it hard to use as first because I'm a bit slow with all these new and savvy stuff, but as I started to get used to my phone, everything becomes easy. Unfortunately, the phone is made in such a way that it can only read the SIM card of the service provider I am using, and it will not work if I change to other service providers.

Hello mari.
I use Nokia 2600 like in the picture. That was my father's gift in my birthday at 13 years old. I really love it because it easy to use and it never broke down although I use it to beat my brother. You should use it if you want to make it as defense tool.lol!
HAPPY LUCKY.
