Thanksgiving snow?

We've had surprisingly little snow where I live so far this winter, so I was surprised to look out my window and watch it falling today. Big fat flakes of it, drifting slowly down. I bet the merchants are giving thanks right now for it, since snow means snowmobilers and skiers and all the rest of the winter people will be close behind. As much as the snowmobilers annoy me (mostly by riding around drunk all the time), without them the economy here would suffer horribly.
Do you have snow where you are today? Are you thankful for it? Are there others around you that are?

I would be thankful, very thankful lecanis. But sadly, we don't have any snows here in my country. I am from the Philippines, we only have summer and wet/cold seasons.
But inspite of it all, I am still thankful because we still have our very own traditions and events during this time of the year!;)
I would love to experience a white christmas though, but that will have to wait and I hope that it'll be sooner!;)

Thank you, some of our fellow filipinos who are working abroad were also missing the familiar spirit during these times. Most of them would return here for a holiday vacation, then spend sometime together with their dearly missed families and relatives.
And during these time, Chrsitmas bazaars and other sidewalk shops pop out from everywhere. Some of them are open 24/7, to cater latenight shoppers!;)
Come December 16, there will be a traditional filipino-catholic celebration where almost everyone will attend a "Night Mass" (Misa de Gallo in Spanish) will be held every 4:00 am simultaneuously to every church in preparation for Christmas!;)

Thanks for sharing, raijin! I would send you some of my snow if I could, we get more than enough where I'm at.
It's great that you have your own traditions and events this time of year. I love learning about other people's traditions.
I don't exactly celebrate Christmas myself, not being Christian, but my religion has a winter holiday as well, and we usually get snow on it. :P
Good luck to you with having your white Christmas someday!

Happy Thanksgiving!
We don't have snow here today, but it is damp and chilly. Last night and early this morning it rained out. Don't even know if they are calling for snow here, haven't checked the weather report yet.

Hi lecanis no we dont have snow today. In fact we are experiencing a warm spell yesterday it was up to 60 degrees and today its going up to 65. But tommorrow it will be freezing here. I really hate the snow mustly because its such a pain in the butt. I do think its beautiful when it first falls.

A lof ot snow here today. I'M so happy that this mornign I wasn't working at 8pm because there is always a lot of traffic with the first real snow at that time. But I know I will have to go to work early.
I wish I was off today and that I could watch the snow while I'm on my pc :P

Awww. I'm so lucky to be off, and I have a great view from my apartment. By a few months from now I'll be sick of snow, but right now I'm loving it. I've even walked home from work in the snow the past couple of times it snowed, but it hasn't stuck around yet. I wonder if this one will stick around.
Be careful getting to work!

We got 4 inches of snow in the last 12 hours. I know there is a layer of ice underneath it. That makes me uncomfortable. I have to drive to my daughter's house later today. Hopefully, the snowplows and sanders get out and do a good job of opening up the roads before I have to go. I don't like snow or cold weather.

Snowfall is the moment I wish to enjoy my life time.
There have been places that have lost its scenic beauty just because of the global warming issues .The doon valleys have
been losing its impeccable beauty.Annoyed as much you are and as are many thinkers of the world we have the same consensus among us all.But then we all have to get on with it.

I don't really send out Thanksgiving greetings. In fact, I celebrated it quietly with just my husband and son. It's mostly an excuse to eat a lot (and watch football for some people) so it's not really something I would send greetings for to anyone.

It snowed here this morning. Just enough to coat the ground. the kids went out and collected all that they could onto our patio table and formed it into a castle, lol. It was our first snow of the season.

Well as you know from my discussions I have been wishing for snow here in Minnesota. Wednsday it snowed a little with some sleet tossed in making the roads hazardous for driving. Then Thanksgivinfg day it snowed on and off all day making it very festive looking here. Here we don't have too mnay DWI's for snowmobliers. A few deaths each year due to it and other stupid FAST riders though. I loved the snow here.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Yay snow! :)
Lucky you, not having to deal with the drunk snowmobilers all the time. I wouldn't mind so much if they actually got in trouble for it, but our cops never do anything about it because it's tourism money. Bleh.
We get the lovely fun of watching them try to cross Portage canal before it's frozen or after it's thawed, and then go to a cold watery grave. Those are usually the deaths we see.

we are getting snow now! The 2nd time this year so far. Which is so strange, usually I've been snowed in several times by now.
I am very thankful for it, there is a big forest fire about 30 miles from my house and they can use all the moisture they can get!
I'm sure the ski resorts up here are happy too, but it's not going to be much help to them, only about 5-10" is what we are supposed to get.
how much do you have so far?

That sounds a lot like my weather... usually we would have been snowed in by now several times, but there's been just a few snowfalls that haven't stuck anyway, until yesterday's. I bet the winter sports people are praying hard.
It wasn't much really, just a couple inches here, but it's snowing again today now.

Yah. It's been snowing off and on so far today, but none of it's sticking. It melts as soon as it hits the ground, because the ground is soaked. It's freezing outside, and I could do with a little snow.

I agree, I was really hoping to see some white on the ground too. But I guess as long as I get snow for christmas I won't complain, lol.

Happy Thanksgiving Sweetie! We got a little sprinkle yesterday and it's been so cold that the sprinkle has stayed. We had our Thanksgiving here in Canada in October, so come Christmas I'll be ready for more turkey!
