Here is a serious question to all Harry Potter fans.

This was actually pointed out by another mylot member Dani_k in his/her discussion and since then i have been searching all Harry Potter fan sites for an answer. No luck as far...Ok i will get to the point. For all of us who have read Deathly Hallows we know the invisibility cloak is an hallow. No spells can get through it if that is the case how come Draco was able to perform the Totalus Petrificus jinx on Harry in Half Blood Prince. Does anybody have an explanation?.....

I don't know if everything is perfect. I think that's a legitimate answer. the other answer I have is that back in medievel times there were knights who wore armor. The armor was supposed to protect them but there were always week spots. Maybe the cloak had a week spot. maybe the cloak wasn't covering harry all the way? For some reason, the Half Blood Prince is the one book I can't even remember reading, even though I did!

Well have you checked her site? Or Harry potter forums? I'm sure they'd be more likely to have an answer. and I did read half blood prince, i just don't remember what happened in it. I honestly forgot about what happened to dumbledore in that book until I read the last one. Ha ha.

I haven't read anything that sait that the invisibility cloak is powerful enough to repell spells... what i know and read is that this cloak cannot be summoned while in use... Dumbledore was able to use the revelio spell so he knows if Harry is within the area using the cloak...

yep But Dumbledore is a powerful wizard. Draco is not in the same league.......and read the Three Brothers story again to see the qualities of the third deathly hallow....and the one Harry has is the third one.....

Well since the invisibility cloak is a hollow... then it is more powerful than Dumbledore... but it is not a question of who is more powerful between Dumbledore and Draco... the question is can spells penetrate the invisiblity cloak... and the answer there is yes...but the summons charm is an exemption... nobody can summon the cloak while it is being used...

Gosh, your question kind of frustrated me! That is a very good question, and you're right it shouldn't have happened. There really is the possibility that maybe one part of him wasn't completely covered and that made the clock useless. If you do find out what the deal is, let me know, ok?

O yes i will girlwithviews.....its just that i am surprised nobody asked JK about it and she never explained anything about it too. I just want to know if she made a genuine mistake or some other explanation
