What should I click to keep other people from having outside entry to my puter?

I just got done cleaning my computer..I bought something in software form but want to know what do you do if someone gets into your ip or sends spyware to your computer? I even heard music and people talking on my computer..that was even me...LOL I don't even know where it was coming from.. I purchased a program that scans your computer..and it showed I had over 1000 problems..the free version fixed 14..for 39 a year..it will fix your computer so it doesnt continue to crash etc. Is there some setting on my computer I can click to keep other computers from connecting to it?

you know I think I had the same problem before. It was very old computer and I used it until we can buy a new one. Then we buy a new one, the problem disappears. I don't remember what is the specification of this old computer, but there was a year 1995 written at the back, I don't know if this refers to the pc or to the monitor.
