Hello hmbw_24, I've actually had that concern many times in the past, when i used to think about getting my kids a trampoline. I was always worried it would collapse, they would fall out, or just break their ankle jumping up and down. The worries seemed to be endless, well..one day my husband decided to end up buying one without me knowing. And of course, the moment he brought it home there was NO WAY my kids were ever gonna let me return it. So We ended up keeping it.
My kids LOVED it, and i was surprised i haven't had any accidents on it yet for the couple years we've owned it. Make sure to get trampolines with the side barriers, and don't go for the cheapest looking one, because you get what you pay for. I would recommenced especially with kids (and boys esp) to watch them at all times while they are on it. And if you own a pool or something dangerous, try to keep it away from the areas around it, even if you have a netting or barrier (they can break u'know). And obviously go for the larger trampoline (if the budget allows), it will increase the safety in many factors.
Hope i helped a little, even though i think i kinda stated the obvious. Have a happy Thanksgiving! :)
