Why is it SO hard to lay off the junk food?

any tips for staying out of the kitchen cabinets?

Chew some gum, or go out for a walk/execise. It helps take my mind off snacking.

Maybe its not about keeping away from the junk food but reading up on your blood-type and seeing what type of food is considered no-good or good . . . you'd be surprised that some of that 'junkfood' is really good for you because your bloodtype craves it OR doesn't need it at all and causes the excess poundage because your hypothalamus if imbalanced. Check out Dr. Peter D'Amo's book "Eating Acording to Your Bloodtype" . It might help to figure out why keeping out of the cupboards and junk-food eating is a problem for you . . . I used to be like that...mmmm chocolate....mmm ice cream etc. but somehow (only god knows how) I managed to have the willpower to go without for a month. I tried it again after that and it didn't taste as nice as it used to. I actually don't like junk! How weird is that! Just force yourself for one month and you'll be surprised how offputtng junk food actually is!

Well, i would say the biggest tip to getting off your habits of junk food binging is not even having the unhealthy food available. Don't buy it at the grocery store, and when you do go to the grocery store make sure you go on a satisfied full stomach (because you will tend to pick up more instant junk food when you are hungry). Also, if snack junk food is your problem, think about finding some kind of snack that is healthier that you can eat throughout the day when you get those urges. (maybe a certain salad with a low fat/calorie dressing you adore or maybe add some chicken bits). It will be hard at first, but always try to keep yourself busy with something to keep your mind off not eating that Big Mac or those chocolate fudge brownies in the fridge.
