i am a big fan of country decorating and looking thru magazines at this time of year has made me wonder. a lot of the houses featured in some of these magazines have christmas trees in every room almost (ok, maybe not the bathroom!) do you do that?
how about an odd or unusual tree? i know a family that generally get a 7 foot tree every year because they have such high ceilings! (what a pain that would be to decorate!)
i have an aunt that has some twigs that are spray painted white and she uses that for her tree...
what about you?

Good timing to ask that, as every year before this one, we only ever had one tree. But yesterday while down the shops, my nearly five year old son spotted an old second hand tree selling for two dollars so my wife bought it for his bedroom. So yesterday arvo was spent making decorations for my son's tree. He had an absolute ball making and decorating.
Also, before I was married, my christmas tree looked like a remnant from the dark ages. It was an old wire tree with green plastic 'leaves', but most of the leaves had fallen off years ago. My wife made me get rid of it and buy a new one. I can't understand why.....LOL!

Wow, two dollars for a tree? That's pretty cheap (in a really good way)! I think my small tabletop tree was like $7 at Wal-Mart. At Christmas Eve at my grandparent's house, I'm gonna see if I can get some of the bows and ribbons that people just throw away for myself. Last year, I found a REALLY nice fabric ribbon that matches the tree skirt, Tree top and ornaments on my little tree. I also have some bows set in between some branches of it for extra ornaments.

I decorate every year with a theme. Last year I really wanted a Black and white tree but I couldn't find decorations, go figure that walmart has some this year. whatever!
I also really wanted to do a home-made theme this year, but I just don't know if I'll have the money to go out buy stuff to make OR the time to actually make stuff. Who knows what I'll do. I'll have to come up with something.

Dangit. That response was supposed to be to your OTHER discussion! Ugh.
So, uh.. two in one? ha ha
I just buy one tree. One real tree. I like them to be round, but I have a small apartment so I have to get as tall a tree as I can, but usually pretty skinny. The tree is my favoritest part of christmas.

I have a big one in the living room that is all decorated with snowmen. I have a smaller one in the dining room and that is decorated by my youngest granddaughter in homemade ornaments and candy canes....I have a wooden one in the kitchen with blue lights on it.....I love Christmas!

Last year we bought a new Christmas tree because our old one wasn't looking all that great. We even bought lots of new ornaments. We did that because we thought my grandparents were coming for a visit, but they never did lol. That's alright because I picked it out =D. It's one of those pre-lit white trees. I love the white trees and I plan on buying my own white tree when I get to finally have my own place!

Decorating a christmas tree is a joy but one only, I think more than one would be a chore and then the part that I hate is when to have to pack it away, I don't even bother anymore, I think along with age one gets over the christmas tree thing, I just have a little table tree I bring outand put a few santa things around the house to give a bit of atmosphere...

We just have one Christmas tree and we use it year after year, I can't abide using real ones, it has a negative affect on the environment, killing trees just to decorate them, then they are thrown out. As well as the needles being shed everywhere, even months afterwards you still find them! There's also the expense too by buying new every year. We just have an artificial green five footer which is ideal, it goes up on 1st December each year.

I'm going to have a 4 foot fake tree, but it will be pink. I'm looking forward to getting it. I put up a couple Christmas decorations today, but the tree will have to wait until some moola comes in. : )

For many years I used to put up a traditional Christmas Tree. The kids loved it, we loved it and it was fine :)
But for the past 4 or 5 years we haven't been able to do so for lack of space. So we came up with an idea that has become a new tradition for us.
Each year we paint a Christmas tree in our living room door. Then each one of us paints decorations on it.
When Christmas is over we repaint the door white again.
This way we can still have a tree despite the lack of space and it still looks nice. Last year my daughter got some neon stars that we glued on the door and even when the lights were off we could see them shining, it was really cute :)

I only put up one..I am not so sure I will this year because my daughter and my son both have little ones so the excitement has been passed to their homes..leaving their new presents is too much like torture for small ones so we go to their homes....We will get together Christmas Eve at my daughters house when I will give everyone my giftes and the families all give their gifts and we open them together..Christmas morning is for each family ...That's when they open their Santa gifts and gifts from their parents and siblings...It helps the family to bond closer sharing this each year with just their immediate family.
New Years we have dinner all together at which ever home we decide..

I love decorating for Christmas. The last few years we were in an apartment and didn't have much room for a tree or decorations. So we didn't do very much in the past. But this year we're in a house and have more room to decorate - so I'm going all out!
We're going to have two trees this year (both artificial). One's a pre-lit six foot tree that we have in our foyer. The second is a seven and a half foot tree in our living room. That will be the one that we decorate and put our gifts under. I've had so much fun picking out decorations for it. I've also got some lights, wreaths, and stockings to put out. It's such a fun time of year!

Well we don't put up any "odd" christmas trees, but we do usually put up more than one. We have a 4ft. pre-lit and fiber optic tree that we use as our main tree, and it sits on a little table in front on the picture windows in the family room. There's far more room for presents underneath a tree raised on a table!!! LOL and then my mom also puts a little 2ft. fiber optic tree next to her computer, because she LOVES anything fiber optic!!! Last year, I had gotten her one of those Lucky Bamboo plants for her birthday in October, so she bought mini christmas lights for that, too!! It was actually kind of cute!!

I have upside-down tomato cages over big pots, and ivy climbing into a tree shape, on the porch. They look great all year 'round, but even better with a string of tiny lights!
Our Christmas tree is white, artificial, has no needles, is LOADED with white lights, and can be anywhere from two to eight feet tall. Its great to decorate with a different theme every year!
There is also a two-foot tree in our guest bathroom every year!
