Hi Odille! I do agree with you and as the saying goes, "you can never please everybody." When i was younger and i don't know any better, i am always trying to please everybody because i just want everybody to like me. That was a tall order, it got me exhausted and i felt so frustrated most of the time. Now, that i am older, i just try to be myself and just do my heart's desire but of course not to the point of being selfish and not considering other people's feelings. Just my thoughts. Your sentence about perfection is good, correct, but still "imperfect". I hope you don't mind if i only talk about this sentence, and not about making people happy. Well, we are not perfect and that's OK with me, but saying this is like you are not even allowed to try to be. It's like a resignation, or at least it sounds like it. Trying to be closer to perfection, that's a real virtue and we should never stop this. So...i wouldn't ever say "Oh, come on! Nobody's perfect and nobody can be!", but "It seems you are on your way to perfection! keep it up, who knows...!"

Glad to see you back, why were you away so long? Yes, you can't make everyone happy all the time. I think the smart thing to do is to just make yourself happy and not worry so much about what every one else thinks. The only people I try to make happy are my family. Friends should be happy just being your friend.

I agree that we can't make everyone happy especially our friends. And that may lead to some distance between them. Like what happened to me a while ago. I saw my friend from High School and it was his birthday. I greeted him and we had a little chat. It's funny when you knew him for a long time but when you get to see one another, the two of you seems new to each other. We were silent and I didn't know what to say. We are still friends but I'm afraid that I might lose him as a friend like some friends I had before. It's funny too when you see someone, smile and say hello, but your thinking, who the heck is this guy?

I think it is impossible for everyone to please everyone.Do what you think right and make friends with the one who you think is worthy.It's enough!

I am sorry that you feel that way. But you are not here to please everyone in your life.You can only do what you can do but never think that being alone is the answer to your problems either. I find it is best to stay true to my heart. I don't agree with my friends simply to be on their good side. That method without a doubt always always fails. I am very firm in my convictions and I stick to them at the risk of making someone angry. Almost always that person will come to at least respect my conviction even if they don't agree with me. you really can't please everyone and it is not good to try. You will wind up looking phony and for a reason.
