What's the Best Way to Develope Downline?

I've been trying to create some of these for the sites I joined, but so far it hasn't worked. So far I created a blog to keep all the information on. Next, in my Myspace bullitens I post a new bulliten everytime I update my blog. Most of the people in my friends list are relatives and friends from school. Next I join many different forums like this one and WAHM and post in them as much as I can (the weblink is in my signature). I even go into Yahoo chatrooms and chat with people and I post the blog link every once in awhile. Am I missing something here? These all seem to be good idea, but they are not working so far. I have signed up for traffic sites, but those are not all that great either lol. Any suggestions?
