i am in queensland, australia right now...i am studying here and at the same time i have a casual job...well, i have the student visa with working permit...
it is quiet here and most people are serious about life...i mean, the place is so silent..the shops closes so early...unlike back home, everyone is sooo 'bibo!'..hehehe...

Like you, I am also a true blue Filipino. I admire your positive attitude towards the problems that beset our country so unlike the others I know who do nothing but complain. I hope that apart from the earnings that you get here, you will continue to be an Ambassador of the Philippines to the Mylot community. You are a good example, so keep it up!

I am also from Philippines, particularly in Zamboanga and I am also proud to be a pinoy. We, pinoys, have a lot of respect for each other even though we are of different tribes. I graduated from a high school filled with Muslim students yet they treat me like one. The tribe was never an issue, except for the ongoing wars in some places in Mindanao, here in Zamboanga. We even had Turkish teachers but we welcomed them and they said pinoys are really different. I think the most significant attitude every pinoy family has is their closeness. You could see a lot of families living in one roof. We like the company of our elders and our relatives are always welcome in our homes.

I'm from the Philippines too and I definitely agree with you. I guess it goes without saying that every individual is proud and happy to live in his country since it's in their nature to feel that. Wherever you go you'll always look back to the place you've learn to love.

My hubby is a pinoy. I am Chinese. But we are both in America. We love it here in the States because we came here when we were very young. We are proud to be Asian Americans. We are not just proud of the United States but also the Philippines and Hong Kong/China. We value our cultural heritage and we teach our children that. We have to first know where we came from in order to know who we are now.
