Geez.. we were all taken by surprise! (of course since it was a surprise exam. LOL)
all of us subordinates here in our office met with our assistant regional director and other bosses. they updated us regarding the recent projects and activities that are being implemented in our region since not all of us are aware with it. it was necessary because it cannot be avoided that civilians would ask us about our projects and activities.
we thought that was the only thing that we are going to do! after the last speaker we were given questionnaires and blank papers and that's it! it was a surprise exam that nobody expected. but i guess it was easy since it was all about our work. but then, hey, its an exam, somehow, it made our eyes rolling and our heads spinning. ^__^;;
what are your experiences on surprise exams/quizzes??
results are going to be released next week. wish me luck! top 3 will get a prize. ^__^

haha.. A surprise exam is one thing that i hate :) hahaha.. Because i never or seldom concentrate during lessons..LOL.. Even if i do always focus on lessons, and very well prepared for anything.. But when i got a surprise exam, my mood will change completely as i need to completely shift my attention to something else.. haha.. So weather i will get to pass the surprise exams, will depend on my mood to see if i can focus on time not.. LOL :) u are so smart, getting the top prize for u is definitely not a problem :) hehe

I'm sure its not easy! not only you have to answer some questions all by yourself, but also you have to pass for the sake of your children! ^__^

maybe your husband should give you a report card for the subject of wife-hood. and if your children grow old enough, maybe he can give you a report card on motherhood. LOL

In my line of work this doesn't happen but I
know many professions it's common. Nursing is
one of those. I guess it's meant to keep you
up to date with the most current information.
Also meant to keep you on your toes and alert.
I'll bet you will be one of the prize winners.
Do you get a car? A trip to a foreign country?
Just kidding. LOL

If I were still in school, I would take them in stride, but now that I am out of school. I would be livid and I would take the test and then I would wait until they really need me a certain day, and I would take a sick day. If I wanted to take tests, I would still be in school.

Hello secret bear. We had the same surprise last month. All of us teachers were asked to take the exam for the certificate of International Business because some other officials would come to inspect our school because ours is still trying to be rated as a key school of the country, the purpose of which is very clear. We English teachers and all the other teachers who teach International business were asked to have the exam. Gladly enough, we all passed the exam and have already got the certificate. I never expected to take such an exam, but it is ok for me as I have not taken any kind of exam for many years after I graduated from normal university. But you are lucky to have the chance to get a prize. We even had to pay for the exam fee by ourselves, which is very expensive.
I wish you good luck, dear friend.

that was probably why they gave you a surprise exam, because everyone looked like they were sleepy. LOL. they probably wanted to test you whether you were paying attention to what they were lecturing you about. hope it goes well for you. tell us the results. and what they prize is...

Well, in my school before, we expect that we will be having a surprise exam everyday. Its because our teachers there wants to see if we are really studying everytime we go home. I dont see anything wrong with that unless you do not study and you are absent. Good luck to you, I hope you will pass your exam and get to the top.

I didn't know they did that at working places, I thought it was only at school that they had those procedures. I hate exams in general even if I have a good previous warning... So surprise exams are as close to my heart as a sharp knife d: I've had a few surprise tests and they never go well... you tend to get so nervous with planned ones sometimes that those surprise ones can make you forget your name... or is that just me?
@secretbear (19448)

22 Dec 07
LOL i haven't met someone who forgets his/her name because of an exam. ^__^;; but i think that's possible. LOL
i guess the exam was a sort of evaluation. to see if we really know what we're doing in our work. ^__^

I have had surprise exams in the past during my school years and I seemed to have done pretty well. Not as well as I would have liked but again, I wasn't all that prepared because it was a surprise. I will wish you luck and think positive thoughts for you in hopes that you will be the top three and win the prize!

Acutally we usually sit for such meetings without really paying attention. I can imagine what you must have felt on being given a questionnaire. I am sure you must have done well secretbear and when you pass with flying colours, do let me know. I shall be sending a prayer to dear dear God to help you pass muster. Good luck and God Bless.

Surprise Exam is always a surprise exam.During college, we always have that on our Chemistry laboratory analysis. To think that it was a Chemistry subject, my major i always plunk the test. Why, because of this. When we have a laboratory analysis presently, then after that we wll have a surprise quiz. You know what our surprise quiz all about, our past lesson, or the next lesson. If we do not have an analysis so we review past lesson and browse the new one, and you know the quiz is, the analysis of new lesson. What on Earth was that. so we always fail. Anyway, i wish you will be the Top 1 and keep the prize. Goodluck.

LOL I didn't quite enjoy chemistry because of that. good thing it wasn't an everyday whim of our professor. she would only give us a surprise exam if she's annoyed at us. ^__^;;
i'm imagining myself to be the topnotcher but I'm not hoping for it. ^__^ it'll be nice though. but I don't wanna make a big deal out of it.

I just have to say I think it's hilarious you said "Civilians" I have never heard of anyone being called civilians unless it's in a police/law enforcement setting...and you're not in that right?
I'd say I pretty much disregard pop quizzes and stuff. Take them like it's nothing. they're no biggie.

woah! I'm not from the law enforcement, I'm not a cop. LOL I did dream to be one a long time ago. but now I even shiver when I think about it. LOL I don't like cops. ^__^
anyway, yeah, I'm not taking it as a big deal. I'm not worrying about it. but it sure would be nice if I get a prize for it. LOL

Way back in college, we always have surprised exams reagrding the previous lessons. Or sometimes about the lessons to be disucss within the day. Like an advance exam for the topics not yet disucssed. Just to check if we are studying in advance. Of course, there are exams that I failed. lol But with God's mercy, I was able to graduate with no back subjects.
